*ok i think i got it*
Ok, there ppl have by some feat of evolution developed the sence of force which is why they have questioned our learning.
Some time in the distant past :millenia ago: they encountered sith/jedi/something. they were entrigued by what they saw and began to mimic them, but lackign the proper tecnology they inputed their own sonic tecnology. Thus creating thses sonic crowbars. Usless in defence because stuff could slicie right through them but that works well for offence because they could slice through defences and deliver a smaching blow. Thses have gradually become weapons for the eliets and a symbol of i high rankeng member of their society or a council member.
Their Government is a republic by their determination oc Council members. But the elders, this old dude, is a primary leader for them.
My guess it these are the large distorted power sources that we picked up on our sencors.
The dark Siders have probablyclouded their vision effectivly hiding their position but making this an effective place to hide the mausuleam. The remoteness of this planet, coupled with these froggies acting like guadians make this a double threat

"Heresy ?" Kellan echoed. "As the Force is my ally, I have spoken ONLY the truth," allowing the Force to carry the conviction of her words.
"That makes precious little difference to the reality of the situation," he says. "I am Toan'feia, the Elder of my people, and my word is law. Your words are heresy, and your punishment will be death. You will make my life far simpler by not talking any of the things you tried to talk of to me or your captor. If you do, I will also have to execute all those that hear you and I would rather not do that."
"The Force is one of those things you should not speak of," he says. "It does not exist. Not for these people. To hear it will be death for them, I can assure you of this. I will see to it personally.
"For my part I only know of the Force what the Force tells me- seeing as I lack the resources your kind have."
hmm, im thinking escape before death,
(this kinda reminds me of a jedi apprentice book ush, taking libertys here??)
*we need these guys on our side*
"before youleave us to our doom, may i ask one final question"
*gotta hunch here*
"would there be perhaps a place on you planet, a forbidden place, a place of great evil, a place where all who go there never return or return with horror stories of terrible deaths"
"You misunderstand me, Master Jedi," says Toan'feia. "I know exactly what and who you are and what your nature is.
"I also understand what you represent to this world. Which is the destruction of everyone in it. So do not think there is anything you can do to deflect me from this course. I knew what I would have to do before you came, when I sensed you would, and I am just as certain now.
"Why would I repeat myself if there is no one to hear me out?" Xeth says. "The only reason we have even come to your planet was to stop such things from happening, though I admit we did not know we'd be a problem for your people either. We have been tracking a group of our kind that have...well...chosen to go were Jedi dare not. They have chosen the Dark Side of the Force, and they have been spreading their evil across the galaxy. They have come here to find what they call the Mausoleum of Demnos. Do you know of it?"
"I asked you not to repeat it because there will be a considerable number of people watching your trial.
"As for a Mausoleum, I know nothing. Demnos, though, I know of.
"As for your quarry, you need not tell me about them either. One of you always means the other. It is the inevitability of your nature. You do not need to tell me how much of a threat the Sith are."
About to say something else, he suddenly breaks and stops, and descends into a horrible coughing fit, a cloth raised to his head- it becomes coated in sickly green slime.
"Regardless of why you came- you should not have done so. That mistake means your deaths."
Xeth goes wide-eyed for a moment. "Master Gundark, a line from your vision! You do not need to tell how much of a threat the Sith are... And I'm sure he'll be saying something about the execution soon..."
"And you can obviously use the Force. But why would it harm the innocent? Those who cannot use the Force? And coudn't you just fill our ship with fuel and let us leave Zeiton in one piece?"
He already said something about the execution, BB!
"Why shouldn't the Force harm the innocent? That is all some people use it for. Please, your attempts to convince me otherwise are futile. I must kill you before you kill my people. There is simply no other way.
"And leave in peace? Give me a single reason why I should trust you."
