"You couldn't have known, Master Gundark. There is no way you could have known. Zeiton was kept secret from us, from all Jedi. You couldn't have known..." Xeth says comfortingly. But he too was feeling pangs of guilt, looking out over the dead.
"All this damage in an hour..." Xeth muttered. He clutched his lightsaber. "Lead us there. We must apologize, and make our way from this place."
"Damn it all."
*Roan stands silently, lightsaber ignighted but limp at his side, the battle rages around him but he takes no notice*
"How could we let this happen. WHY wern't we aleted of this of this. WHY DAMMIT WHY!!!!!"
*IN sheer frustration, Burn hacks into the ground with his lightsaber."
(elder comes, bla)
*roan silently followes, hood up, deep in thought*
Well, actually, Roan, by the time you joined this mission you were totally out of contact with the Council so you have just kinda fallen into this disaster.
What worries you guys more is that your instincts never told you how much of a mistake it all was , but that could be for all sorts of reasons. Gundark, the hyper-instictive Master, felt it in the end. But that's the problem with Instincts- they don't always steer you right.
You follow the Messenger, the war going on behind you. He leads you through the myriad corridors of the Government buildings, and then down, down down...
You are led down to what looks like the entrance to a huge safe or vault underground- well, even MORE underground, anyway. The large door remains sealed behind you. The messenger leaves you now, and as you go in, you see the Elder meditating on the floor there.
Gundark- he is using the Force to sense the death outside.
*Raises hand to make certain Kosta knows he needs to Shut Up*
*Throws KOSTA THE MEAN-ASS Master Marcus look*
"Don't mind him, it was in no way our intention to annihilate your people, we were wrong to join this conflict, in fact by rights we shouldn't even be here, but we have a mission here, which we can not forsake for the greater good in the galaxy"
Turns to Kosta: "mind your emotions, anger leads to hate, hate leads to the Darkside, I hope I don't have to teach you that lesson again."
"Your certainity that your actions here are for a greater good do not persuade me," says the Elder. "However, I am willing to accept you did not know what you were doing. I do not know how it is that the Order has become so enfeebled as to be unable to control such situations. But it is too late for recriminations now. The process has started and your deaths now would achieve nothing.
"In light of your apparent ignorance," he says, turning briefly to Kosta, "I will answer any questions you have about this planet, in the hope that it will help you."
