"Me? Oh no- I serve Kiki, not the prince. Although where ever Kiki's allegience lies I will commit." Vrix said. "I just happened to attain the rank of captain. Yes the prince should be overthrown, but, right now I am loyal only to Kiki." Vrix said while he approached the vampire. Vrix looked at Kiki.
She watched fro afar, holding on of the teens under her arm in a head lock. The one who pulled the knife was pinned to the ground under her boot, her heal on his neck and the knife in her hand. She smiled and looked from Vrix to Benjii. "Well I'm happy to see none of you are trying to kill each other." The teen under her arm was struggling to free himself, she wasn't holding him very tightly.
Memories
He sat down atop the rooftops of his old hunting grounds, the ones from when he was a human child. He looked around, noticing how much the landscape had changed since then, how the once emerald fields were now naught but skyscrapers and zoning districts, these buildings saved only due to his own "generous donations" to the community, as the city council had called them. He leaned back, his head resting on the edge of the terrace upon which he sat, closing his eyes for a moment.
-|-Dream Sequence-|-
"Come on, Irvine!" Her golden hair streamed behind her as he followed. They ran forth into the open fields, the shelter of the trees no longer around them. Arrows flew forth, and though he leaped to push her out of harm's way, he watched in horror as she fell, the crimson liquid pouring from her wounds.
He woke with a start, a cold sweat breaking out over him. "Rika..." He lowered his head. "I'll get them... soon. I promise..."
Vrix dropped the teen and turned his back on Benjii. He approached Kiki opening his mouth to speak when the sound of a chopper came from over-head. A spotting beam flashed down on them as the sound of sirens joined the chopper's rotor blades. A loudspeaker whined to life. "This is the Police Department. Stop where you are, you are surrounded!" Vrix, looked up at the light then back at Kiki whose face was now in shadow. "Date?" He asked refering to having some fun.
He heard the sounds of the chopper and loudspeaker before he saw it, making his way straight for it. He drew his makeshift badge, the one he'd gotten for the Rukia job back in '96. Walking into the center of the spotlight, he raised it, switching his comlink to the dispatch channel for officers. "Chopper, stand down. Detective Valentine, Precinct 71423 working with individuals undercover on gang wars." He paused, nervously awaiting a response, knowing that they would check the ID number before confirming. He hoped that Axel had kept the records up, though he wouldn't doubt their removal after the mess he'd made of the Rukia job... Blowing up half a city block was more attention than he'd wanted to draw, though it was all deflected back on the Precinct instead. He turned to the others gathered there. "We should go before they double check my..." The chatter of the radio came back suddenly. Damn...
Vrix glanced at the newcomer. "I was going to enjoy causing carnage, but, free help is free help. Especially from someone I dont know."
The officers on the police radio came back. "Dective Valentine, please re-confirm your badge ID and give your district code. Unit 3-5 move in. Caution it may be trap."
Vrix removed one of his pistols. Hiding it behind his back.
Cerberus nodded. "Well, glad to help. We live this through, and we'll manage the formal introductions." He turned the comlink back on. "Chopper, that's Badge No. 41269, District Code 817. And on a more personal note, you're screwing with my investigation." He turned to the others, drawing a dual set of Jericho 941's inconspicuously. "Get ready for a gunfight... and to run..."
Vrix removed his other pistol and nodded to him. The modified Dostevi's were already fully loaded, their chrome finish shone under the search light, but, hidden from view.
The chopper spoke up. "Detective Valentine, please repeat your badge number and district code." Another voice joined the choppers on the com. "Unit 3-5 in position, we're on the southern building's roof oppisite the suspects. Permission to fir-" The chopper came back on. "Unit 3-5 you idiots! You are broadcasting in the clear." Unit 3-5: "Oop,s sorry chopper-5." Chopper-5: "Unit 3-5 stand-down."
He smirked. "Amateurs." He turned on his mic again. "Chopper, I can see you guys are having some trouble. Sending snipers after an officer? You guys are in major Hell when the Captain hears about this." He turned to the others. "On your mark, kid." Speaking into the mic again, he looked up to the chopper. "Assuming that you've got your zoom turned on, I've got something to show you." He raised a hand and performed a rather lude gesture.
The information about Valentines ID arrived, telling them it was a false badge ID, just as Vrix's first bullet pierced the armoured bottom of the chopper, passing straight through the pilots body through his seat and ending lodged in his brain. The pilots grip on the yoke slakened and chopper started spinning while the officers screamed at the dead pilot. Then the actual sonic sound of the shot startled everyone. Causing them to look at Vrix.
She sneered and put her back to Vrix's. drawing both her guns and keeping then hidden beneath her coat. "Sure we can trust him?" She was eyeing the buildings surrounding them, watching out for any snipers who weren’t dumb enough to give away their position. She dropped the teen and moved her foot from the other's neck. "Damn it Vrix, we don't have time to listen to this guy. We need to get out of here before anything else happens." She pulled her guns out from under her coat and waited, holding them in sight of the officers. "Let's get this party started."
Vrix ignored the motion leaping to his right and then sliding under a police car. He slid to the other side, tearing the beige jumpsuit he was wearing. He fired upwards through the officers taking cover there. Killing them. His bullets continued upwards to hit their intended targets: The snipers. He dropped two. The others were already falling back. Their bodies fell from the building trailing blood.
She grinned and appeared on top of the building, blocking the snipers exit. “Where do you think you boy’s are going?” She raised her guns and opened fire, sending the remaining snipers backwards over the edge of the roof. They fell to the streets below, landing on cars and splattering sidewalks. She smiled and walked to the edge, searching for where Vrix was hiding.
Vrix came up shooting the next cop that got in the way in the cranium, without even thinking he turned to his left, diving and rolling away from the bullets that zipped at him from the surrounding buildings. Relying purely on instinct he fired several shots at the surrouning towers dropping several more snipers. The majority of their bodies fell to a messy end on the streets below. Vrix came up with his back to Cerberus. In the adrenalin of battle he turned on him holding his gun to Cerberus's face. ((It should be a stand off between us. Each holding a gun to the other at point-blank. Thats my idea anywhere))
<<will do, however, I'm gonna start him a few moments before>>
Cerberus shrugged as the two headed off killing more cops, sniping off several of his own. He leapt atop the communications tower nearest him and caught hold of a falling cop, seemingly saving his life. Before the cop could thank him, however, Cerberus sank his teeth into the officer's neck, tearing out his throat and enjoying the taste of the crimson bloodflow that followed. "Ah, a lecher... Your wife would be so displeased..." He tossed the body aside, then landed back on the ground, sniping off officers as they ran out of literally nowhere, and backing toward the male vamp. As he backed into him, he turned suddenly, a gun in his face to match the one pointed at Vrix. A gunshot rang out as he withdrew his gun, the barrel smoking as another SWAT member fell to the ground, bloodied. He raised an eyebrow in a cocky manner and turned to snap the neck of the one sneaking up on him. "How many of them are there? This is getting very old, VERY quickly..." He surveyed the area, seeing no immediate threats, and reloaded his clips, turning the comlink back on to intercept any other transmissions. Silence. "Well, that's a bit of a disappointment." He headed back over to Vrix. "Seems to be quiet for the moment. You handled yourself well out there. Got a name, or just well-adapted gun-fighting skills?"
