that's okay. I think it's a good question, something I've been wondering about. Maybe somehow Voldermorth found out that Harry was the heir of Gryffindor??

I just don't understand why Voldermorth chose Harry?? What was there about him that told Voldy, "he's the one."

maybe it was sudden mental inspiration . . . . . . . i mean who decides 'right in 5minutes im gonna go out and murder someone and fullfill (sp?) a prophecy?' 😛

i feel like this is kinda explained in the fifth book....*runs to get her book*.....alright, i think i got something....read this:

Okay, I think Voldemort may not have known that Neville had been born, and even if he did, he CHOSE to mark Harry. Like Li was saying, with the quote. Its kinda complicated, but Voldemort must have seen Harry as more of a threat than Neville. Wasn't Harry a year old when Voldy attacked?? Maybe he was watching the two babies, and Harry had more potential than Neville did. Doea that make sense or hlep at all?? I hope it does. I've got all these thoughts in my head and its hard to put in writing. 😑 Oh and if ne of u didnt kno, the title is "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince", and JK said that the HalfBlood Prince is neither Harry nor Voldy. Ne ideas who it COULD be??

^I think your trying to say the same thing i was padfootlover...its just really hard to put into words, cuz its very complicated. but i think i understand what your saying...perhaps cuz its the same thing i was trying to say 🙂

and as for the half blood prince...i have no idea! lots of ppl think its tom riddle...but to me, tom riddle is voldy, cuz if you rearrange the letters of his name is spells...i am lord voldemort...i feel like that kinda gets the point across 🙂

We know for sure that the half blood prince is Hagrid, his mother is the queen of the giants, this makes him a prince. The fact he is half giant makes his half blood, therefore, a half blood prince.

Yes but I think it was going to be in the second but she removed it and decided it belonged in the sixth. The Chamber of Secrets begins to go into some of the back story of Hagrid and I think JK intended to reveal more but decided to save it for book six.

i like the idea hat agrid is the prince, but wasn't he a half breed not a halfblood.... (or is that the same?) and the important thing in book 6 would be something small, and we olny found out hagrid was a half giant in book 4

yes, and you were right, but i was to lazy to quote 😮 but is there a difference to halfblood and halfbreed, cause hagrid is halfbreed (umbridge keeps saying that!)

^yes, good point. Both of those things bother me about naming Hagrid the HBP, not only is he halfbreed instead of halfblood, but we didn't even know he was half giant until book four...but i'm still not ruling him out.

He is a halfbreed because his father was not a giant but his mother was. Giants are wizards. (they can do magic) Now if anyone knows whether his father was a wizard or a muggle we can know whether Hagrid is a half blood or a pure blood. It is in the 5th book about his father but i cant remember at this moment.

yeah...this whole HBP thing is gunna have us guessing for quite some time...and none of us will prolly end up guessing who it really is, it'll be a big surprise, as always 🙂
