Plot Event- arrival of the Shahazarad and the Persepolis
The Percy gliding in smoothly, the Shez wobbling in alarmingly, both ships make their return to Zion within 30 minutes of each other. Their badly injured crews disembark, rather wobbly. Some will need treatment. Luckily, this 'ghost' damage the body does to itself is far easier to treat and heal than the real thing.
Rumours are soon flying around of a mission gone terribly wrong, a close escape for all involved, and a disastrous failure for Zion, for a reason few seem to want to talk about.
Dallas and Marduk meet to talk over things, After a couple of minutes, they agree that they will personally report to Locke and the Council. You Vets turn to follow them.
"No," they say as one, firmly. That is unusual.
"We'll handle this," says Marduk. "You people rest."
There is indeed time. As a maintenance team gets to work on replacing the engines on the Shez, Dallas and Marduk spend the entire evening in consultation with the Council.
Which gives the rest of you time to go get checked out medically, have a rest- and then maybe meet in the bar to talk over what the heck is going on, hmm? Any new players can make their introductions at this time- the Percy will be taking a full crew compliment with it next time out.
That mission should have given you the opportunity to learn about the personalities of Ariadne and Dallas. Some of you may even be wondering exactly how Dallas made Captain in the first place...
We now have distinctive personalities for the Percy as well, and instead of taking the time to learn them, I shall simply display them here((note the non-anglicised spelling for the Shez, btw...):
Captain Marduk: an Iranian with a quiet and thoughtful nature. Just why he gets on so well with Dallas is a puzzle, even to Marduk. Marduk is used to working with Dallas (some would say bailing out Dallas) so the Persepolis often works near the Shehezarade. The Persepolis is a one class of ship smaller than the Shehezarade.
Finn: an Irishman with four decades of operating behind him. He isn't the computer whiz that Ariadne is and maybe his fingers don't type as fast as they used to, but his experience makes him a great tactical adviser. Finn is a comfort to anyone in a crisis.
"Not a trap as such," says Finn. "If it was, the Agents would have appeared on the train and wiped you out. They turned up with those SWAT teams because something alerted them.
And you are right, Medea helped you... mind you, Loomis didn't lift a finger to help Burn and Burn had just helped him. Odd."
"well....they couldn't have known we were coming..they were here for a reason...a reason of their own..maybe we screwed something up for them" says Rade "who knows? besides..ariadne said they read like humans"
(i assume the operator can't back track their signal to see where they were broadcasted from, eh?)
"WHAT!?!? My lungs are DAMAGED?! HOW?" I look down at my chest, trying to see what is, impossible, to see without the correct equipment..."Are you sure i will be fine in the Matrix? Cause i don't wanna jack in, and all of a sudden have a lung fail when i'm fighting or trying to be subtle when, all of a sudden, i pass out...i don't want that to happen..."
