"Well, your body did think you had been shot through the chest," they explain. "A few of your alveoli went then. Soft tissue is one of the things more vulnerable to this kind of damage. "Best" injury you can take in the Matrix is a broken limb- your mind is hard pressed to make THAT real!

"But I don't think it should affect your RSI. Unless you panic about if, of course- but then thats always a reason to not go in!

"Oh, one thing... I don't want to sound blindingly obvious but try to avoid that kind of punishment again. If you get shot through the chest AGAIN and your real world body gets damaged a second time you may need a longer break."

*buys another round in the bar, hugs Rade
"all and all it was a great run, we survived it yet again CHEERS"

*Sits at the bar*
*grabs a drink*
"Is it possible that when their ship was destroyed, they were trapped in the matrix?"
*rubs chest as it is still sore from where the Agent punched me into a car, but with all the more serious injurys Burn neglected medical treament*

in other words...body armor ✅

As for the rest of you injured people- Burn and Mors have nasty bruises caused by the capillaries going haywire in the real world when the Agent hit them. Butn was one big bruise on his shoulder in particualar and Mors has backacge, but they will be fine.

Celsius, they were mroe concerned about you, in case something squsihy went in your vitals, but other than feeling like you have been kicked in the stomach by a horse, you are fine and are given the all clear.

The rest of you who were hit barely feel it at all now.

Ah- body armour... not very cinematic that! Basically, in the rules for this system, body armour reduces your skill so you would want to stay away from it.

"I suppose the best I can say is that if you are going to be badly injured, try and make it somewhere else..." says the Doctor. "Not your head, though. Always bad news, that."

"technicaly that is impossible Burn, but with that damn program you never know"

*i look warily at my chest, then pick up my sweater-jacket thingy and walk to the bar, where i see my buddy Fire and Burn kicking back, so i motion to the bartender* "Something hard, please..." *I turn back to Fire* "So, that went well..."

"Speaking as an Operator," says Finn, in his best 'four decades of experience' voice, "the problem with that kind of scenario- something people have thought about a lot- is that even if it were theoretically possible for the mind to survive without the body, if you aren't being broadcast into the Matrix FROM a fixed point, you simply wouldn't be there!

As it is, the mind cannot survive without the body so it is moot. If they were in the Matrix when the Bounty blew they would have died, either when the connection was cut or when their brains stopped existing. Anyway, they wouldn't have been in the Matrix- it was on a test flight, not a mission. As far as we can tell, they were in a chase, fired their EMP, and didn;t make it out."

"... We can't win em all, else the machines would be unemployed HA, most important thing is that we got out of there alive. Tho for burn here it was a close one....
Btw you pulled a kick ass move there, I saw it when I was searching the code for that blond chick, so burn you see even an old fox doesn't lose his tricks"

hard to sound experienced when ur drunk as Irishmen get!

EDIT: Say what fire??

"After four decades Finn knows what he is talking about, don't get me wrong coeus is old but Finn is ancient"

*takes a gulp, then sets glass down* "and take it from me, Fire may seem all big and tough, but he's just hot air..."

"So I think," says Finn, now a long way into his drinking schedule, "the least unlikely scenario is that Jericho is alive. No matter how ridiculous that is, I think any other explanation is MORE so."

"Hot air, Hot air, Hot air, how rude, I'm mofo Burning Hot air"

...ok...*picks up glass and takes another drink* "you know, this REALLY hurts...damn mundanes..."

"Yea mooks can be *****, certainly when you don't have your blade"

"damn Duracells!"

They just keep going and going...
