I haven't read much of your stuff, but I'll say this: never give up writing. If you really enjoy doing it, you will continue to get better, and your writing will mature naturally. Don't quit something just because one person said you were bad.
Where would the human race be if everybody did that? 😛
I second that, I read the first few paragraphs and the storyhas a good lead-up. though sometimes people are too hasty to race into the action and skip important explanation into the story, you're grammer is quite good though there were some minor mistakes... everyone makes them, so don't worry.
To keep a story interesting, you don't need to race to anything, this is where were combine different genres into one story, to say; turning a story about war into a mystery or romance and adding a little comedy here and there, It always seems to work in my ones, especially the Underworld ones I created a while back...
So keep your chin up, take flaming commentry as a grain of salt and filter out the not-niceties so said and find the true meaning to their words. People who say things like you have no skill and should quit are either jealous that you can write a superior story to them or are just suffering from that once-a-month-thing, be they man or woman 😛 See, turning a serious comment into something that may be amusing to some (Though hopefully no one was offended)
So keep your chin up (Now I'm repeating myself 😄 ) and keep bashing you're keyboard because you have more potential than most who flame you're work!
