USH'S GAME EPISODE I-"AVALAR" - Dark Side (Edna Witch, queeq, Captain Rex, yerssot)

Started by queeq32 pages

Quam's surprise is quickly replaced by a new resolve. He increases his speed again, directs all his energy to the front reflector shields, programmes the pirate cruiser's hull for three more torpedo's and punches in coordinates to the navicomputer.

When lights start to blink all over his console, warning him, bringing up data and confirmation, Quam races his ship towards the blind side of the war cruiser. When he passes the cruiser very close he fires his torpedos at it.

Sorry (again!) queeq but the blockade is well within the planet's gravity well.

You have to be considerably behind the cruiser before you can enter hyperspace.

Gald takes a stroll out of his office. He eyes Quint and Sun Rek down the hall, muttering. He walks towards them. "Hello, boss!" says a Yuzzum named Tay as he walks up. "Hello Tay, Quint, Sun Rek. Why aren't you working?" Galder questions. "It's lunch break! Man, you need a watch or somethin', cause you've lost track of time!" says Tay. "Good day to you sirs," Gald says and walks away.

He walks into the Star-Gazer room, a databank of planets from all over the galaxy. He walks in and shuts the door. It is a dark room with hologram stars all over. He walks up to a terminal and switches it on. He opens Kuylen's Planetary Operations, a folder only he can get into using a special code and having the computer scan his hand.

He looks around in the folder. He sees a list of planets; Utapau, Tatooine, Tutalo, Coruscant, Sullust, Kothlis, and many more. He clicks on Utapau. A grey, dusty-looking planet pops up among the stars. It zooms up, bigger and bigger, until Gald can see that it's flat. Like Tatooine, it's a desert, only sand storms constantly go on and on and on. "Kuylen's business here is with Ycktrelth, a Zabrak bounty hunter and his band of pirates. Hired them to attack Galactic Republicans of the Outer Rims." Then it kept talking.

After searching for more info on whats going on with Kuylen's operation, he finds Jalgon Beta. A large, bluish gas planet pops into view, with three moons. The bluish gas planet is Jalgon, and the moons are Jalgon Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. He zooms in on Jalgon Beta. "Kuylen commands his operations from here. THIS COMPUTER DATA HAS BEEN REMOVED." Gald starts to worry again. Usually it says things about the base and who works for him, but it didn't.

Gald goes outside and looks at the icy ball of a planet, deep in thought. Then he goes into his quarters to meditate.

What you DO know, Gald, is that it was Faylar who originally built this platform purely to get at the gold.

Kuylen, however, wanted something else down there- something of archaelogical importance. You still don't know what.

Kuylen wanted it VERY badly. But there was no way to do it without working WITH Faylar. Evenm if you took the platform Faylar would simply send large ships to destroy it.

So instead, Kuylen did a deal. Faylar was launching his bid to take control of the 13 worlds of the Damagran Confederacy. Kuylen and the others have been working flat-out to help Faylar achieve this. From what you have been hearing recently, thwy have succeeded. Damagran- and the other 12 worlds- are about to announce their indepenance, with Faylar at the helm.

In return for Kuylen's help, Faylar has let him use this platform and what is down there.

Something makes your neck prickle. It never was a happy alliance. You never did like Faylar; a power hungry snake.

In short, you have a bad feeling about his...

Gald meditates for hours, then goes to bed. He lays there, turning and twisting in his sleep. He is in a dream...

He is piloting the Raging Reek through space around Jaglon Beta. Then, suddenly, he sees a gang of pirate ships swarming around. Among the pirate ships he spies a battlecruiser, Quam's Dark Starfighter, Kuylen's corvette, and the Jedi. Suddenly, lasers hit his ship and everything goes black. Then Faylar's face comes out of the darkness, glaring evily. He starts cackling, cackling, and cackling. He then takes out a gun and shoots Gald.

Gald awakes and knows now that Faylar is not a friend, but a very large enemy. His worries begin to grow larger...

Quam is manouvering his way past the cruiser spinning and twirling, shaking enemy fighters off his back while dodging the slow turbo lasers of the war cruiser. On one of his passage runs Quam fires a missile into one of the cruiser's landing bays. A huge explosion follows and the spray of fire coming from the cruiser takes out two of Quam's pursuers.

"Kuylen", Quam spoke into his intercom, "I'm beginning to get fed up with this. Take out that cruiser so we'll be off. I'm annoyed as it is that the Jedi got out of here before we did..."

With relative ease Quam manouvered close to the hull of the cruiser, diving slowly underneath it and moving to the other side of the cruiser.

Gald switches on his Remote Probe droid, which turns on and hovers at about the heigth of Gald's head. Gald ignites his father's lightsaber and begins to block at the light flow of weak lasers. Clacking noises can be heard.

Gald goes to the comm again. This time he punches in the code for Faylar. Faylar doesn't answer and he calls Kuylen again. Kuylen doesn't answer. Gald starts to mope around. Using the Force he switches of the droid and his lightsaber. The Force! He remembers his powers and tries to sense Kuylen's, or any of his partners', minds.

(Sorry (sigh..) Rex, but the only Jedi around are the Light SIde players, and none of them are here yet! Remember, this isn;t quite like the other game where you can always make up whatever you like. In any case, there are VERY good reasons why no Jedi are on Avalar!)

-

Quam, finally something gives on the battered cruiser. The last salvo of torpedoes hits it, and there is a great CRACK from the hull as it splits. A ;arge explosion blossoms out of the middle of it. The ship is not destroyed, but it is not at al well!

No more enemy fire bothers the corvette as it slides underneath the ship, trying to catch you two.

"Set co-ordinates for Avalar," comes Kuylen's voice over the comms. "And QUICKLY!"

Not long afterwards, he and Krisha enter hypersapce, and I assume you follow, Quam...

Quam enters hyperspace.

It's not far to Avalar. As Kuylen said, you are there within the hour.

Your three ships flash out of hyperspace in close orbit. Gald, you are pretty relieved to see the ships arrive!

Avalar is a beautiful sight. The sun is near its death point, slowly swelling before the inevitable nova- still centuries off. But a long trail from the enogrged sun is caught by Avalar's gravity and snakes around the planet, coating its icy surface in the valuable minerals that made mining here such a priority.

Avalar is a forgotten planet. Faylar secretly set-up mining here a decade ago as he began his power bid, but Kuylen and you guys made him a better offer. He seemed too sensible a man to betray you at the time, but there you go.

So now this place is technically yours, though its unlikely Faylar will leave it alone for long. You really WILL need to move fast.

The fact that there was so much gold to be mined from Avalar was a happy coincidence, but that's not why you are here. It's what was buried under the surface of the ice that interested you.

Thousands of years ago, Avalar was the site of a Sith Monastery. The Dark Monks who lived here sought to teach others in the Sith ways. To that end, they began the huge task of codifying the Sith laws. Every single Sith rule, every piece of Lore, every single piece of forbidden Sith knowledge was painstakingly recorded and written down in the archives of the Avalar monastery.

During the last Sith War, the Jedi never found Avalar, thugh they suspected its existence. But a far worse fate awaited the monks.

The Sith never were the best team players, and Darh Bane's faction of the Sith objected to the blatant codifying of rules that should be handed down by word of mouth.

In a vast battle, Bane's army stormed the Avalar temple and killed all the monks within. They left the temple a ruin, but rumour has it that they did not destroy the archive- because it was written on tablets sacred to the Sith. They left it hidden, isntead.

Without the terraforming technology the monks brought, the fortress on Avarlar froze over. No-one ever found it. The Sith Archive of Avalar now exists only as a piece of Jedi theory.

But YOU people have found it. And after years of slow excavation of the ice by the vast laser that is built into the mining platform, the Archive is almost completely exposed.

Every secret. Every piece of knowledge. The power of the Sith is just waiting down there... for you to take.

The Sith may be extinct, but if you can get that archive you can have ALL the power that was once theirs. And then, for once, it will be the Jedi that fear YOU...

Gald walks out onto the platform. Using his Force powers, he had sensed Kuylen ordering the others into hyperspace. After waiting for about 10 minutes in his office, he walked out. Now, Kuylen's corvette landed inside the hangar. Along side it landed Quam's Dark Starfighter.

"Good of you to come," Gald says, relieved that they are alright. "Did you bring the Raging Reek with you?" Gald asks about his Star Viper.

"It's in my cargo hold," says Kuylen, as he runs briskly down the ramp. Krisha's ship is just landing.

Kuylen fixes you with a stare.

"Everything ok here?" he asks.

"Yes. Opperations are running smoothly. Although, I was suspecting a mutiny from the workers. They haven't been paid in weeks. And when I checked up on your opperations folder, the Jalgon Beta information had been deleted," Gald informs his master.

Kuylen looks a bit concerned.

"May I pay the workers sir? They found a massive supply of gold a few days ago. And how come I couldn't reach you? Opperations with the pirates not going well?" Gald asks. Gald still has a few questions, but will have them wait.

Chion comes walking heavily down the ramp of Krisha's ship. It's very hard not to be intimidated by Chion. You keep thinking the floor is going to buckle under his enormous wieght. He walks to Kuylen's side.

"I don't see why we need the workers any more," says Kuylen. "And you suspect they will mutiny?" He turns to Chion. "Kill them all," says Kuylen. Chion nods and starts to walk off. "You can help him if you want," says Kuylen, talking to all of you.

Krisha appears at the door of her ship, looking down nastily.

"I'm going to prep the shuttle," says Kuylen. "In ten minutes we will head down to the monastery. You can come, Glad, if you want. Anyone who doesn't come, I'll assume they are not interested in what is down there. That shuttle is the only ship adapted to the Avalar atmosphere so there is no chance of anyone following us."

He looks up at Krisha for a moment, then walks on.

Gald feels a bit of sorrow for the workers, but quickly remembers something before Chion stomps off. "Master Kuylen. Tell Chion not to kill Rura Ta the Kaminoan. I've sensed him to be fluent with the Force. May he join us after some..." Gald shows Kuylen his pulse cannon, "...persuasion? He's in the laser control room. I'll have him shut off the laser before he joins us or we kill him. I have two lightsabers he could use."

Gald doesn't want to tell Kuylen or the others that Rura Ta is a close friend of his and that they roamed the universe together before meeting Kuylen. Gald had given Rura some training as a Corsair, but he is not ready for dueling. Just the simple 'moving objects with the mind' and the so-called 'Jedi mind tricks.'

Gald decides he will take his Star Viper down to the planet and says that as well.

Edna wonders out of Kuylens ship and leans against the doorway whilst they all finish their conversations. She listens and decides she can't be bothered to help with killing all the workers and slowly walks over toward the shuttle, ready to go down to the planet, without talking to anyone. She had been waiting for this ever since Kuylen had told her about the planet and anticipation was starting to make her bones ache!

Just a reminder, Rex- as Kuylen just said, only the shuttle is adapted to Avalar's atmosphere. Not a good idea to take your Viper down.

The problem with Avalar is that it has a good portion of a sun wrapped around it. This causes all sorts of difficulties, meaning that ships thay go there have to be specially adpated, for that purpose and no other.

Also, it means that you shouldn't spend more than four hours down there or you risk getting a lethal dose of radiation.

"Take it up with Chion, not me," says Kuylen to you, Gald, before he heads down to the shuttle with Edna.

Krisha walks up to your side, Gald.

"You shouldn't let him tell you what's what," she says.

After Kuylen's remark, Gald rushes to the Laser Control room. He comes back with Kaminoan who, at a whopping 7'5", is taller than all of them. At his waist are two blaster pistols, a stun gun, and a disruptor pistol. He fingers the disruptor and stun pistols. "Everyone, this is Rura Ta. He... um..." Gald chokes on the lump in his throat. "...is a good friend of mine. He is fluent in the Force and I have taught him some lightsaber manuevers. Chion, he's a worker here, don't kill him!"

Chion grunts and stomps off, igniting his lightsaber. Minutes later, Gald here's screams and shrieks as Chion dices them down. There is little resistance, and Chion slices through the 19 workers swiftly. Quint and Sun Rek come running to Gald. "Spare us!" Quint shrieks in terror, but Gald lifts his hand and uses the Force to push them back. Chion holds out his lightsaber as the 2 workers fly at the lightsaber. Gald cringes as their heads fall off.

Gald turns away as Chion continues to route the workers. "Hello, Rura, welcome to the gang!" Gald welcomes. "Hello Gald, everyone," Rura Ta says, a little uncomfortable. "This is Krisha, Edna, Quam, Chion (as you already know), and our leader, Kuylen," Gald introduces everyone to Rura.

"Welcome to Avalar m'lady," says Gald as he senses Edna's anticipation. "Not much to see, but very fun to play in the snow."

I'm afraid only stuff that Faylar gave you is adapted for that planet- and he only gave you the one shuttle. And if you ever see him, you have FAR more to talk about than limited shuttle numbers...

Kuylen, not at all impressed by your contribution to things, continues to walk down to the shuttle.

"Kuylen will have him killed, you KNOW that," says Krisha to you, Gald.

"Shut up, Krisha," Gald says. "Rura can fend for himself!" Gald runs to his office to gather a few weapons and tools. He returns with his multipurpose rifle and a lightsaber. He hands the lightsaber to Rura as Chion comes back. Chion grunts again, with a menacing look, and follows Kuylen. "Gald, I feel as if I'm unwelcome," Rura whispers to Gald. "Well, actually, you aren't welcome, but I didn't want ya' killed. One of my few friends."

The tools Gald gathered are few. A hookshot (grappling gun), a mining laser to help thaw whatever ice didn't melt by the giant laser, and his lightsabers.

Gald begins to walk in thought towards the shuttle as everyone loads on. Maybe Kuylen will have Rura killed, Gald thinks uneasily. But, then again, he wouldn't want me against him he thinks again, fearing for his friend's life. He trips over something. Tyko the Abyssin, that worked in the Laser Control Room, is laying on the floor. His arm is severed, he is cut in half, and has a lightsaber wound through his single eye out the back of his head. Gald gets a little barfy, and quickly rushes up the ramp of the shuttle.
