USH'S GAME EPISODE I-"AVALAR" - Dark Side (Edna Witch, queeq, Captain Rex, yerssot)

Red keeps blocking Gald's blows. Blow after blow after blow. "Come on! Let me past you nerf herding ghost!" Gald yells. He is beginning to tire of Red's endless supply of defence. Sparks are flying everywhere, doing nothing to the lighten the room. Gald keeps slashing at the double, but he keeps blocking. Gald then powers down his lightsaber. Now the double can't completely be sure of where Gald is. Red suddenly hears a gun cocking and a stun gun is fired, stunning the double in place. Gald then shoots his with a pulse cannon, which looks weird in the darkness. The purples masses of energy keep zapping Red, but the stun soon wears off and he's back on his feet.

Gald ignites both of his lightsabers and runs like a mad man at the double. Gald goes into a spin, spins gracefully, and slashes during the spin. Red blocks the sabers and lands a blow on Gald's leg. "Arrgg! You stupid..." Gald gets cut off as Red kicks him in the face. The double makes an attempt to decapitate Gald, but Gald rolls out of the way. Gald leaps to his feet and re-ignites his lightsabers. He now makes them look like scissors. He makes a cutting motion and almost cuts Red in half, but Red sticks his lightsaber in the middle. Then he takes out the other lightsaber and almost severes Gald's left arm. Gald manages to block and does back flips to get away from the clone.

Gald puts one lightsaber away and removes a disruptor pistol from his belt. He opens fire, sending a small green orb of explosive energy at Red. He tries to block it, but the just explodes once it hits the blade. A large, electronic screech erupts in the hollow and a large green flash blinds both of the fighters. Will this ever end?, wonders Gald.

Krisha sits down next to you, Quam.

"Well, I guess there are worse fates than an eternity with you," she says. "Somehow, I expected more. But then, you always have been a failure, Quam, haven't you?"

Rex, you have it sussed now. Your double keeps going back into the same sequence of moves, almost as if pre-programmed. He is making the same response to every move you make.

As soon as he begins his next cycle, you simply make a move your double hasn't seen you do yet. Your right blade slices cleanly through one of his sabres, and the mirror image seems so surprised by this that you quickly cut through the other one as well.

You are high on adrenaline, strained, and fuill of emotion. Your double just stands before you, offering no resistance. It seems to be waiting.

Edna, you're up for the test now as well.

The mirror takes no time at all to produce your test, but it does something it has never done before. The image that steps out of the hemisphere is that of your mother.

The double just stands there. Gald finally makes his move and slices at the double, who just sends him flying in the air with Force shove. Once Gald lands, he throws both of his lightsabers after locking them on.

Quam ignores the words of the fake Krisha, sits down and closes his eyes... waiting.

Gald, the sabres fly straight through the unarmed double form of yourself and land behind him.

"Well done," says your double, in an eerie voice. The hemisphere infront of you revolves around, allowing you acces onwards. Kuylen s in thee, waiting for you.

"You really are a disappointment, Quam," says Krisha. "You know, so many Sith died in this place they thought it might become a Vergence. It never did, but the reflections of those who died here are to be respected. They've been waiting for people like you for some time. But if you can't even pass a test designed for children, I think they will be happier left undisturbed..."

Quam yawns a bit. He then looks at Krishna. "Hey, you still here?"

"You really are the most arrogant son of a bitch, aren't you, Quam?" says Krisha. She smiles, and fades away. The hemisphere opens up and you can proceed.

The room beyond is a small hallway. Next door to it is the most recently unearthed room- the Sith computer bank. Kuylen is feverishly looking at the records contained within.

"Finally", Quam sighs as he walks into the Computer Room.

"You getting anything? Or do you need a hand with that." Quam said while under his robes he feels his pocket for a data stick.

"This isn't exactly what we are looking for," says Kuylen. "Just some computer databank. Lots of history, but nothing you can't get from the Temple on Coruscant. But take a look at some of THIS encoded info..."

The files Kuylen show you are VERY heavily encrypted, and damaged as well. it could take a while to re-construct them but it is easy to see what they are.

"Star charts," says Kuylen, "Milennia out of date but we can adjust for that. If we can de-code those wo could find the locations of a dozen other Sith sites in the Galaxy."

"You mind if I give it a try?", Quam asked.

"Give it a go," says Kuylen. "But don't take too long. We have to find what we are REALLY here for... maybe we should just download the lot and see what we can make of it later."

Chion comes ambling through, havning finished his mirror test/

Gald is about to ask what Chion's test was, but remembers that Chion doesn't talk. At least he thinks so. He asks Quam and he just replies "Ignoring spirits." He asks Kuylen what his test was, but before Kuylen can answer, he wonders aloud "Where's Edna?"

This is Edsna's mirror test transcript. We have done it by e-mail to move the story along:

Edna looks at the mirror and then image of her mother and remains there for a few moments whilst she basks in the emotions running through her.

"Edna, my dear..." says your mother. "You're SUCH a long way from home..."

"Home was a hell I never again want to return to!" Edna retorts wantng almost to spit at the mirror!

Your mother emerges from the mirror and starts to walk around you.

"I always did my best to protect you," she says.l "but you left without ever saying goodbyel You just disappered and left ME to face the consequences of the murders you committed..."

"You face the consequences of MY actions? That's rich! YOu were the mother who was too weak to stand up for herslef and allowed her child to grow up in slavery! I hope I never inherit your cowardice!" Edna can feel the rage building up inside her.

"But I had no choice," says your mother, "and all I ever did was love you and bring you up as best I could... the only person who has ever loved you, and you left me..."

"You never loved me! You would never have let anyone you loved be used the way I was. I was glad when I left you. I hate you!" Edna lets loose her emotions and reches out to slap the her mother.

"Other arrangements? You think I didn't know what a whore you were. You left me all alone as an infant night after night to go to that man. That monster, Yarric Dorsa!"

The sound of her own voice saying his name was enough to make her sick. Edna clenches her fists, closes her eyes and lets out all the emotions of loathing for her mother, not caring for the consequences!

You scream, loudly, and all your hatred flows out...

But this time, you do not black out as you have often donme before. You watch as the visage of your mother is stripped away, skin, muscle, bone, amnd then her spiriy and soul, until nothing is left in front of you other than the hemisphere rotating to allow your way on...

Edna emergss from the hemisphere with a sense of triumph in her heart and a smile on her face. She spots kuylen and approaches him "Right where to now?" Edna asks with probably a litle too much enthusiasm!

"Hello, Edna," says Kuylen. "Quam is working on the computer, and we still need to find the way into the archive... it must be around here somewhere."

"So, what do you want me to do?"

Kuylen suddnely wheels around and grabs you by the shoulders, Edna.

"EVERYTHING in here is operated by the Force," he says. "YOU find it. You have the finest instinct of any I know. Let your emotions flow and guide us to the right place..."

Edna is taken aback by this. She stares at Kuylen as though he may be going slightly insane. He stares back with a look of sincerity on his face. She seriously doubts she will be able to find it but sees no harm in trying. As she tries to focus she is becoming overwhelmed by her fear of failing her master. She clings onto this emotion and decides to use it to her advantage. She lets the fear flow through her at the same time as trying to focus her mind. She had only tried to focus her skill like this a few times before, both times being almost fatally unsuccessful. But she knew what she had to do and she SO wanted to find it.

There is something about this place, Edna. It feels... creepy... unpleasant... but somehow comfortable. It accepts the strength of your feelings and emotions as you feel around...

"This is where the monks made their last stand," says Kuylen. "The presence of so many dead Sith has empowered this place. Everyone. Guard your minds against the presences here and use them to your advantage. This place was BUILT for people like us. Edna, you CAN do it! You MUST!"

You can all sense the near desperation in Kuylen's voice.

Edna clings on to Kuylen's desperate feelings. Along with her own selfish need to be successful at something for once in her life. She tries with all her might to emphasise these feelings and let the force flow through her as she feels the place for anthing that gives her sense of importance. lead me to it! The archives! she says inside her head hoping that the long gone presences that she canfeel would answer her and give her guidance.

The presences are not friendly. They resnt you being there... but like the Force, they will obey your commands... yes... YES! There. There! Behind the far wall. You must oush your feelings there to get in...

Kuylen looks at you.

"You've found it? Over there?" he says.

You HAVE found what you need, Edna... not a physical switch, but something you have to push with the Force anyway... but you can't... quite... do it....

"HELP her, everyone," says Kuylen. "Quickly!" Kuylen stands by your side and reaches his arm out, adding his poweer to yours. Chion walks to your side as well, though his contribution is not great...

Edna starts to feel the strong as everone uses her as the focus of their force strength. She can feel it beginning to take its toll on her but it feels good. She has never felt so powerful. She can feel the switch now. So close. Must concentrate just a little longer! Keep...trying...almost...there! Edna's face is screwed up and contorted with a mixture of pain and concentration.
