USH'S GAME EPISODE I-"AVALAR" - Dark Side (Edna Witch, queeq, Captain Rex, yerssot)

Started by Captain REX32 pages

Gald is forcing his mind to its limits. He can feel the power in the room. The destruction it could cause...

The energy is almost too much for Gald, but he holds on. He too can feel the switch. Round, like on a safe. It twitches a little, but it doesn't open the door. Turn you acursed switch!, Gald sends his thoughts to the switch. It begins to turn slowly...

(MOD NOTE- in case anyone is wandering, Edna can currently only reach a connection that gives her mail but not web access. Weird! so she may play like this for a while.

Once all the players have started to help Edna (and remember, it's only a metaphorical switch), we can proceed; I just needed to make sure you were all together at this point)

Gald then senses that the switch isn't budging more than it was. Turn, damn it, turn!, Gald sends the messages to the switch. It barely moves...

Quam had easily managed to decipher and reassemble the data while Kuylen, Edna and Gald were holding hands in an attempt to throw the unseen switch. He could sense it would only need an extra push by another Dark Jedi.... but first, he downloaded the restored data to one data stick, and then the scrambled version with some additional secret codes to another.

He then slowly walks up to the wall where the others are holding hands. He reaches out with the Force and helps the switch move which now begins to turn more distinctly.

Look, it's not a real switch! It doesn't 'turn'.

But in any case...

All five of you stand in a line, reaching out for the way in... with all five of you together, you finally find what you need...

There is a strong pulse of energy in the Force... and then the wall ahead of you disappears, being replaced with what looks like a vast black area of nothingness. On closer inspection, as your eyes adjust, its actually a chasm. The 'switch' disabled the mind trick that created the presence of the wall there.

Kuylen walks forward, and ginerly pokes his sabre handle around the empty air of the chasm. He hits something solid in the middle.

You soon work out that there is an invisible force field bridge that spans the chasm.. thin and scary yo tuse, but perfectly solid.

Kuylen begins to walk the bridge.

Quam immediately follows him. Casually he walks the bridge without the slightest hint of loosing his balance.

Edna takes a few moments to get her breath back, exhausted after being the channel for all that energy. Once back on form she quickly follows and quams and kuylen's footsteps.

Gald watches Kuylen's footsteps. Then he steps onto the bridge and does the exact same steps as Kuylen.

The force-bridge eventually leads you down... along way down...

And eventually it leads you to the Archive.

It's difficult for you to all fit inside. The room is narrow- but TALL.

It is a very high cylinder- at least 100 feet, but only a few metres across. Everything is made of stone. And in 'bookcases' lining the edge of the room, stretching all the way up, are thousands of stone tablets.

The tablets SEEM completely blank, but a short amount of experimentation shows that if you hold your hand to the back of them, on the other side ancient hieroglyphics light up in pale green.

Kuylen 'borrowed' from the Temple, during his stint as Chief archivist, the texts necessary to de-code this Sith writing, but it will be a long job. You al knew that becoming Sith would not be a fast process. A lot of study begins today.

That is, IF you suceed, which is far from certain., You are all aware that it will take you AGES to shift this lot, with the bag you are carrying.

No time like the present, though. Kuylen and Chion start filling bags, and I assume you all do the same. At least woth each of you carrying portions of the archive, no-one will be tempted to take and run. But this will take many visits to get it all out!

Kuylen's communicator goes off. He listens to a report from his pilot, the Twi'lek. He seems concerned.

"Damn," he says. "The Jedi have arrived at the platform. It's worse than that, apparently half the Damagran fleet is with them. They must have called in back-up. AND the pirates are there. They want to destroy the platform as well."

Kuylen, having filled his bag, heads out. "I'm just checking the computer banks again," he says.

Gald is filling up his sack. "This will take forever!" He keeps shoveling tablets into the sack until it's full. "Well, where in a to do. They'll destroy the platform, my office, my Star Viper, and the corvette! First, the Jedi and Damagran will probably fight the pirates. This is just crap!"

Well, the situation is this:

Your biggest worry is that someone destroys the platform, effecitvely stranding you. Only the pirates are likely to want to do this as they just want to mess everyne over. The Damagran people don't have a clue about this temple but DO want the gold they know is being mined here!

The Jedi, however, are almost certain to want to PERSONALLY make sure that you guys do not get away clean. If they can find a way to get down you can expect them to try and force an entry.

If any of you are worred about your ships, Kuylen's pilot can get them to safety; Kuylen's ship is already safe.

As far as Kuylen is concerned, if you guys are quick enough then the battle up top will be irrelevant. You can be out of here before there is any worry of losing the platform,

The Jedi are more of a problem... but you guys can handle them, can't you?

"I see Master," Gald answers. "Should you like me to help Rura guard the entrance? That, or I'll stay here and help remove these tablets." Gald has a shrinking feeling in the pit of his stomach and feel a like closed in, but the feeling quickly passes.

"Go with your instincts," says Kuylen as he disappears back up the forcefield bridge. He doesn't seem to be giving you his full attention, as he barks orders at his pilot over the communicator.

"Sometimes he can somewhat a grump," Gald says to whoevers closest and goes after Kuylen.

Gald, Kuylen is standing in the hall near the computer control room.

"DO they have a ship?" he is asking his pilot. "DO they? Well, get closer and tell me! I don't care. I..." Kuylen stops and looks up, through a great crack in the ceiling. When you look uop you can JUST make out the indistinct blob coming through the thick atmosphere. Kuylen turns to you, Gald.

"The Damagran forces brought them an adapted tranport," he says. "Sloppy security from Faylar..."

He returns to his comms.

"Forget the platform," he says. "Get out the battle zone. When we are ready to come up you can pick up our shuttle directly. No-one will notice a damn thing in the middle of this war zone. Kuylen out." He turns to you again

"Kill the Jedi and we are done," he says.

"Yes Master. Finally, I'll be able to face the Jedi." Gald salutes to Kuylen and runs to the entrance. "Come on Rura," Gald yells as he zips by. "We've got some Jedi to kill!"

"WAIT!" calls Kuylen.

"You run out there they'll team up and slaughter you. We have to play this smart... wait unti they are disorientated- when they try the mirror tests! The Jedi won;t be able to get past those and will be totally confused!"

"I'm checking the computer records again. There may be a few others passages left I can try to surprise them from..."

Kuylen returns to the computer room.

"Duh! What was I thinking?" Gald runs back to the mirror tests room. He hides inside a hollow. This double stands there with an evil smile on it's face. "At last I will fight the Jedi!" says the clone. Rura hides behind a bench, using a device he created to turn him invisible.

(The mirror won't activate for you this side, so there is no double, but it's a superb place to ambush a Jedi when he comes, inevitably alone. From THIS side of it you can break the rules, as it were)

The double is frozen in place and then fades away. "Get ready Rura!"
