We’re missing something…

At the very end of Reloaded, before the Neb is attacked and destroyed, we have Morph, Link, Neo and Trin talking. Morpheus expresses his disbelief at the war not being over. And then Neo says

“In 24 hours it will be.”
“How do you know?”
“Someone told me. It doesn’t matter who, what matters is I believed him.”
(Along those lines).

Now, if we go back and look the Neo-Architect conversation, the Architect NEVER mentions 24 hours. So how does Neo know this? Who did he talk to, and, more importantly, WHEN?

good point, and in a revolutions preview, it ses 72 hrs, so i have no idea where that came from, good lookin out, but i dont think its in the movie, cuz i watched it yesterday

its cos (as morp said) what if tomorrow the war could be over...

anyway, u get the idea, everyone thinks that if they get the One into that door, then its all yippe doo dah and over 😄 .... but its not 🙁

neo now thinks it is impossible to save the world cos he is another form of control, and they got 24 from the osiris scannings, calcualtions etc....

Realworlddreams> There are quite a lot of “times” in the movie and game. In ETM the Spectator cackles “72 hours”. In the trailer Lock says “In 12 hours the Machines will breech the dock-walls.” It’s possible the machines will reach Zion in 12 hours, and it’ll all be over in 24 hours.
But then there are those 72 hours…

But I’m still left with finding out who told Neo, that the war will be over in 24 hours.

i dont think he means that someone told him 24 hours, but someone told him "coupled with your decision and the extinction of Zion, the human race...."
and he meant someone told him it was all over in 24 hours cos of his decision

If he was just talking about the Architect he'd have no idea how long it would take.

Trinity: What are we gonna do?
Neo: I don't know.

Ouch. Never thought of that. Kinda like the trainman with Niobe in ETM, but Neo doesn't meet him until he gets to Mobil Ave... who could it be?

the questions are referring to how did u know zion will be destroyed, but i'll talk more about it tomorrow, good night....

That Zion will be destroyed is NEWS to Link, Morpheus and Trinity. That is one thing. That could conceivably come from the Architect.
But in 24 HOURS.
It sounds exactly as if Neo somehow passed by a certain train-station on his way out of the Matrix. How I don’t know. But maybe this holds the answer to part of this entire, “how on Earth did Neo end up still being up-loaded after he jacked out”?

Perhaps, Neo knows the end will come in 24 hours, in that he is still connected to the SOURCE, and the SOURCE knows how long, because it's a MWAM!!! *dun dun dun*

I'm not saying the SOURCE is someone, but the programmed source, or AI source, can still contain in its innards this kind of information...And i haven't brought up EVE in at least a week, maybe more, so there. 😛

Dave is right, that could easily be interpreted that Neo is only saying someone told him that Zion will be destroyed.

The 24 hours thing appears to be a conclusion he has reached on his own.

But I DO think the times given are important. And since Neo gives a specific time “24 hours” he must’ve got it from somewhere (someone as it is).
The “If we don’t do something Zion will be destroyed” could, as I stated earlier, be from the Architect.
The Spectator said “72” hours to Niobe (I can’t remember exactly when in ETM), in Reloaded the sentinels hit an iron-ore giving “us just over nine hours before they get here.”
And then the trailer “In less than 12 hours the Machines will breech the dock-walls.”
Those times COULD probably be made to fit.
But who told Neo it was 24 hours exactly?

I do not think anyone did. The only thing he said he was told was that Zion would be destroyed, I am sure that is so. Otherwise specifying "... it would happen' in that line is superfluous, he would have just said "I was told."
