thx Sesy 😊
Name: Shona Allerdyce
Code Name: Pyro
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Race/Ethnicity: Caucasian/Australian
General Appearance: Shona has a golden, flawless complexion that has a soft, healthy glow to it and is very smooth and supple. Her eyes are bright blue that are rimmed with navy and scarce traces of hazel fleck the iris that take on a metallic appearance when she uses her powers making them shimmer in firelight. Her bottom lip a bit fuller than her upper lip and her mouth is usually half upturned into a small smirk. Her hair is a medium, golden blonde with a range of highlights that is usually tied back in some way with some strands free in the front.
Shona has a nicely curved, well toned, and very feminine form. Her stomach is flat and her muscles, though toned and there, melt into one another with only the smallest of definition between them giving her a nice smooth appearance. The curves of her body are soft and rounded. She is five feet and seven inches tall, at least last time she measured herself.
Distinguishing Characteristics: Shona has a tattoo of a small, realistic flame on her lower back and is about two inches high that she got on her eighteenth birthday. Though not visual, her body temperature is higher than average usually closer to 100.3 than 98.6.
Uniformed Appearance: Pyro wears the issued uniform, though hers has been lined with fire proof material. On each palm there is a small trigger that takes a fair ammount of pressure to activate so that nothing is acidentally set off, on the inside of her wrist is a small nozzle that attaches to a thin cloth pack of lighter fluid that covers half the inside of her forearm. The mechanism behaves like a lighter in a much sleeker form.
Affiliation: X-men
Hellfire Club status: non-member
Family: Jonathan Allerdyce (father, unknown), Monica Allerdyce (mother, deceased), Rachel Allerdyce (stepmother, deceased)
Personality: Shona is usually ready with a comeback and always seems cocky with her little smirk. She isn't a particularly sympathetic person, but will ask someone if something is wrong if they looked hurt or depressed and will listen, or seem to listen. She keeps to herself and acts like she doesn't need anyone but secretly craves attention and contact and will go out of her way to get it.
She enjoys flirting and writing and her powers, especially her powers. She can live with humans and go for the whole coexistence ideas but the thought of actually being human terrifies her and she hates that without a lighter or outside source she might as well be human if not for her heat sense.
Powers: Pyro was the ability to manipulate the size, temperature, and shape of flames. These powers make Pyro fire-proof and resistant to heat and burns. Another ability that goes with her power of flame manipulation is a heat sense that works a lot like heat vision but acts more like the sense of sound or smell than sight with more accuracy.
Weaknesses: Pyro needs a catalyst for her power, without a flame she might as well be a regular human. Fire is also extremely sympathetic to her emotions, if she's depressed they fade, if she's angry they can flare up to a point where they're lethal and uncontrolled until she calms down. Her heat sense also has the same weaknesses as a heat vision machine would.
Other Abilities: Shona is a skilled writer and has written a few novels that are still in rough draft form. She also has the regular combat training that X-men receive mixed with other techniques she learned on the streets and in jail.
Detailed History: Eighteen years ago Monica Allerdyce gave birth to her first, and last, child in Victoria, Australia. There were complications during the birth and Monica died but her daughter, Shona, was. Jonathan remarried three years after his wife died to a woman who didn't particularly like children and ignored Shona altogether and eventually her father started to dismiss her as well. The raising of the young girl who would become Pyro was left to daycares and babysitters. When Shona was starting kindergarten her father was given a promotion that moved them to Seattle, Washington where the American branch of the company was located. A nanny was hired to care for Shona and Shona acted out figuring if she couldn't get positive attention from her father, she'd get negative attention. By the time she was twelve she had done everything from getting into fights to shaving the cat. At this age she found herself drawn to fire and sat in front of the fireplace in their apartment and just watched the flames. The nanny, who was fourth in a growing line, was concerned about this new fascination but dismissed it as long as it kept the girl quiet and out of trouble.
One day she brought home a poor report card, angering her father and creating a very frustrated and angry Shona. The fire she watched as a means of therapy flared with her anger and stray embers caught the carpet and flared into flames. The fire alarm went off, distracting Shona and consequentially dulling the flames. Shona watched the flames like a deer watching headlights, fingers twitching and an unfamiliar need pulsing through her. The fire was put out with a towel and Shona was sent to her room. That night she heard Rachel explaining what had happened to his wife and Rachel seemed to believe that her stepchild must be some type of demon. Despite the belief it was dismissed as an accident but the flint had sparked and started the slowly burn away at the young mutant. Now when she watched the flames she could feel the heat and power but it wasn't enough and eventually she called a flame too her. Though she was only able to hold it in her hand it was enough to set her apart from anyone she'd ever heard of. Like anyone would she started to play with her new ability, deciding to keep it to herself remembering the words of her stepmother. She taught herself to manipulate the flame, amusing herself by creating flame animals.
A week before she turned thirteen her stepmother caught her playing with a little flame dragon and yelled and cursed and threatened Shona. Reacting to Shona's fear the fire flared, surrounding her as she subconsciously created a shell around herself. The fire grew as the yells and threats increased until the whole apartment was ablaze. The smoke made both Shona and Rachel pass out. Shona was found where she had passed out in the apartment once the fire was put out, unburned except for her clothing in a room that had been completely consumed by flame. Upon waking up first thing she heard was her father being told his wife was dead and the realization hit her: Shona had killed her. She started to scream and cry that she killed her and tried to break away from the firefighter holding her.
Shona was later charged with arson and involuntary manslaughter. At the trial she told them everything, about manipulating the fire and how it reacted to her emotions. A lighter was brought in and lit and she was told to prove it, freezing up she refused to. The prosecution started on about how she was lying to the court and then the defense got into arguing with the prosecution and the judge was yelling and banging his gavel, which would scare any thirteen year onld girl and the flame that was still it responded by lighting the baliffs arm on fire.
The footage from any cameras there was bought and destroyed, the witnesses were paid off and Shona was sent into a private mental hospital instead of juvenille hall. Her father visited, though it was clear he was scared of her but still felt a sense of responsibility since she was his daughter. She was transfered from the hospital to juvy on her sixteenth birthday to finish her four year sentance.
She was released a week after her seventeenth birthday on probation until she turned eighteen in July. The first time she used her main power in four years she nearly cried with relief but kept constantly aware of the lingering threat of another fire getting out of control.
Legally she was good, but she'd missed out on a large chunk of her life and was doing her best to make up for it. She joined the drama club and got a fairly serious boyfriend, Danny, who took her to concerts, shopping, to the dances, and anytihng else normal teenagers did. She never mentioned her past and there were plenty of rumors passed on it, but eventually no one seemed to care anymore, it just faded away like rumors tend to do.
Towards the end of the school year, nine days after prom, Shona told Danny she thought she was pregnant. He left her and wanted her back after it turned out that she wasn't. She ignored him and withdrew into herself until the end of the schoolyear.
Early last July she turned eighteen and was recruited by the X-men beginning of August. She continues to keep in contact with her father, though its usually just calls on the holidays and a present sent out on his birthday and on Christmas.
