No, there will not be a KH3. Nomura confirmed that Square is working on a completely new series now. It's relevant to KH of course since Mickey is shown in the end of the secret ending in Final Mix+ 2. However, the next title will not bear the name "Kingdom Hearts" and will be called something else. Also since it's a new series, there'll be games that will be released following the release of the next title.
No, there will be a KHIII, but they're not working on it right now.
Get your facts straight disgust
Originally posted by Sweet EscapeThat sounds better. It is possible that they're working on a whole other series ahora mismo but that doesn't mean it's taking the place of the Kingdom Hearts series and that Kingdom Hearts is done and over with.

Ya, different series. So no, there will not be a KHIII 🙂

^Actually, either one of us could be wrong. You're saying there will be a KHIII and I'm saying there will not be, when there's nothing proving either of our claim. I believe that there won't be because the news in the link said Square was going in a different direction and said they will be working on a new series, and it's still part of the franchise but NOT part of the series.
The new series is still part of the franshise, meaning it's not a continuation of the KH series but it's still part of the franchise that KH is part of.
It's like this: Final Fantasy X-2 is part of the Final Fantasy X series, and FFX is part of the Final Fantasy franchise. The new series is part of the same franchise KH is part of since not only is it relevant to it but it's being made by Square & Disney.
You can't simply say there will be a KHIII since you don't know. They could just decide to continue with the new series and forget about KH since the new series is connected to it anyway, and Nomura already confirmed that Square and Disney are going in another direction. They might continue with the KH series; they might not.
No offense but what you're saying is contradicting while not making much sense at all. 😬
(I still wuv you, don't hate me)
And we do know that there will be another Kingdom Hearts game and many more just like the Final Fantasy Series continues on because it has been stated long before now.
Choosing to make another game before they make Kingdom Hearts III, means nothing. It just means they're making another game ahora mismo, which game companies tend to do.

Burnt Pancakes: When interviewers asked Nomura whether or not Riku and the main character Sora will be in it, Nomura with a laugh said he couldn't say.
InnerRise: Yes what I am saying does make sense. Franchise is a broader term that series. A series is a group of games, titles, movies, etc. that follow each other in a sequence storywise. A franchise is a license granted by a company to a group to market it's products. The examples I gave fits these two definitions. Final Fantasy X-2 is a continuation of Final Fantasy X meaning it's part of the FFX series. If there was a FFX-3, it would still be part of the FFX series. FF123456789101112 & 13 are all part of the FF franchise. The new series they're working on is part of the KH franchise but they already confirmed it's a new series, but it's still part of the franchise. I can't clarify that anymore than I just did.
Edit: Also it was a matter of opinion between me and someone else who made claims such as "there will be a KH3" when there's nothing saying that at all.

Soon after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi came out, George Lucas was asked if he would ever make any more Star Wars movies. George said he never would.

Originally posted by Burnt PancakesYou misunderstood. I didn't say they will not be part of the new series. I simply meant that it can't be claimed as a fact because Nomura said "He couldn't say" whether or not Sora and Riku will be in it. That's all.
