ps2 might suffer from lack of anti-aliasing.. but Im not sure what else would make it look better or worse

you don't think the ps2 would be up to the task graphics wise?

it can.. but the whole port over thing may lead to the dev team having to perform extra tweak time to make it run properly on another system

true, it could...

guess we'll just have to see... i wonder if anything would be changed... or added...

They COULD also make it look pretty well if they spread the data throughout the DVD-Rom. It probably won't look identical, but it could happen, FFX/FFX-2's FMVs didn't look so bad for Ps2.

true, though they were the fmv's...

FMV can be very good detail, but in game graphics are another thing.
yes the ps2 is powerful, but sometimes it can't live up to the Xbox or the cubes graphical power.
i don't think the RE4 port will be horrible looking, because a lot of games that were ported still look great. but it wont have the consistent graphics through the game.

I find it such a shame that graphics seem so important nowadays...
i will play RE4 on any system it comes out on, because i want to expereince the gameplay i hear so much about.

i still play games if the graphics aren't super great.
i was jus mentioning that the ps2 version wont look as good. and it will hinder gameplay a little because being able to see far into the distance and spot an enemy is great for a game like this.

and the gameplay is very outstanding.

Well, graphics are important if their directly tied to the gameplay. To me, gameplay is very important but atmosphere and immersion are also.
With crappier graphics/power would mean that the enemies will be less or look like shit thus not being freaky or scary.

Exactly, so regardless of the different build of a graphical engine, we can only hope they can restore the gameplay properly. If it takes blowing up 6-8 villagers with a grenade at one time for a SECOND of slowdown on the GameCube, I fear what will happen with the Ps2. Later on you have no choice, but to decapitate multiple enemies due to how fast they come, and if you have immense slowdown you wouldn't be able to shoot fast enough to take them down before taking a rocket to the face or something.

I still miss the old school era of gaming, gameplay before graphics, or Super Mario RPG comes to mind....

Hmmmm, seems kind of fast too me.

Bought the game.

On chapter 3-2.

My favourite boss so far was the first one; the thing in the lake. The cutscenes were so excellent.

The part where you and Luis and Ashley are barricaded in that house with a freakin' army of crazy-ass plagos villagers on your tail is very exciting...it strongly reminds me of that one battle part in the first LOTR movie where they are barricaded in Balin's Tomb.

"I see that the President's equipped his daughter with ballistics too"

Oh Luis that comedian... 🙄

I'm on the crazy fire-breathing dragon statues. Dammit.

Just been watching some ps2 trailers on ign... leon has a new (and somewhat worse) voice...

But he has some kind of crazy-ass photon cannon. Which makes up for it.

I honestly like him better in 4 then the last one. He is a lot more to his character and seems a little more in charge then before.

I doubt leon on ps2 will be much different in personality than leon on gc...

( you mean in his look or who he is as a charterer. ) I think he was a lot more in control this time around. Also he was more skilled and mature in 4 as well. The time he spent with the government did something to him.
