Before reading any further, I GET IT. I spent the first few days after it opened to figure out the hidden meanings in the movie. The whole "you didn't understand it" junk doesn't work here.
I'd be lying if I said I loved Revolutions. I liked it. It just wasn't what I thought it would be. That's about it. However, I've seen it three times and somethings do get better. I just don't have the love for it I had with the first two. I wish I could get the same joy out it the rest of you have. I just don't. Here are some possible reasons, I heard, it may not be considered by people as great as the others.
I repeat these are 'their' reasons, not mine.
Some of the dialouge was just, well, not up to par. Same with acting in some scenes. Character growth like in the first is almost gone. So most feel no sorrow when someone dies. Trinity's death scene falls here.
The explantions were as vague as always and then some. I seriously don't see that as problems though. This is a thinking movie. Would anyone HONESTLY expect the Oracle to explain the reason for Neo's powers as well as MetaMorpheus did?
The lack of fight scenes and the actual Matrix. Also the overdoing of the seige on Zion. It takes forever just to for the battles to go one way or the other.
After waiting six months, most people wanted something, well, more. Elements that made the first two good are missing so a 1/4 of fans left. At least where I live anyway. Seriously, The Matrix Revolutions only shows at 9:10pm where I live. I'm not saying it was a complete disaster; it just wasn't what others and myself expected.
In conclusion, yeah I was dissappionted. It could have been done differently and still had the same messages, but it wasn't. Oh well, we still have the Online Games and the Comics to look forward to. I think Morpheus sums it up just right.
