Oh Yeah, I remember hearing about them from this local sports radio host who also played a lot of underground hip hop. In the Dungeon with Frank Red that was it, god damn that was a great radio show, too bad he is only on Sundays because he has a 10 times better show than anything else in the market.
I'll probably pick up the album now that I remember what their name is.
and exactly who are you to say that isn't a good song?
I'm a human being who has thoughts and opinions. That's who I know I am. That's why I can say the song isn't good. The same way you can say it is good.

A toddler could like this song. A little kid could like this song. Shit, even a retard can like this song. For sure pre-teens and clubbers love this song. And why is that:
It's catchy...sure it doesn't have the greatest lyrics, but what it lacks in structure, it makes up for with an EXTREMELY catchy beat. ANY popular Southern California (or probably US) night club has had that song spinning night in and night out.
and you're here talking about intelligence? Of course people love that song. When have I said they don't? And why do they like it? Because it's catchy. That's it. And you're sitting there talking about intelligence? haha, man a retard can like that song. Because of the beat. I on the other hand, don't care how "catchy" something is. Just because something is "catchy" doesn't make it good. The lyrics are horrible. Sure the beat is catchy, but what's the song about? Going to clubs, drinking expensive wine and f*cking b*tches. But since you're all about intelligence, who cares if his lyrics could be written by a twelve year old. Right? Yea buddy, you keep talking about intelligence. I bet you get distracted by bright colors and flashy objects. Because they're sooooooo pretty and mesmerizing. Just like a catchy beat.
Underground artists, though I know little about them
There. Stop. You don't know anything about them. So until you do, why continue on?
But what I'm seeing you do is talk sh!t on mainstream.....basically just because it is main stream.
What I'm seeing is that you're slow. So maybe I have to type slow. I don't know. First, I talk shit about mainstream artists when it's called for i.e. 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Chingy, Cash Money. Just because somebody is in the "mainstream" doesn't mean I dont like them. Wu-Tang is mainstream, and I listen to their albums all the time. Biggie was as mainstream as you could get and he's one of my all-time favorite artists. A Tribe Called Quest is mainstream and they're my favorite group of all time. So it doesn't matter what you're "in" or whatever. If I like it, I like it. Regardless of what kind of music it is. The mainstream itself bothers me. It's all about money, money, and uh, money. I care about the art. You don't, and that's cool, but I do. So I dont like music that is made to sell money. You know why? Because it sounds like shit. If it was good music I would like it, but it sucks. You talk shit about hip-hop because of what you hear on the radio and see on TV. Thats' the music I'm talking about. The kind of music that has no substance. Music that's all about bling bling and rides. Sorry, I look for more in my music than a catchy beat. It takes more to get my attention. It takes... it takes... it takes...

Good post. GOD these people are hard to put up with!! My friend Chris thinks he knows all about rap because hes black and fat and wears throwback jerseys. It was like 6 in the morning and we hadn't gotten any sleep and he kept blasting the top 40 rap station in my ear. Then I lashed out at him and told him that this mainstream rap SUCKS. He didn't understand the concept of lyracsim and he looked at me like I was crazy when I said G-Unit sucked. 😠
yeah, masta killa isn't the best, i'm not sure why I chose him but whatever. I agree that Nas is past his prime a bit, I haven't heard "Streets Disciple" but Gods Son wasn't great. I actually thought Iron Flag by Wu was an awesome album, underrated IMO. The Roots new album is awesome, you should pick it up, 10 quality tracks (one by Scott Storch is insane).

from Cali right? are we talkin about the same rapper?
Yeah, with the Liks. He's got crazy flow. Solo album was so-so, but he rhymes like no other. I forgot the spelling. Usually just call him "My nigga Tash" or "Flashy, fly Tash, Pop'n everything that's poppable".

😆 the only good thing u said was that u also like Mos Def
