newbie Three Win Two Lose

Hello everyone, im new to the world of generating sigs and avatars, i want take screenshots from an online game i play and make a custom forum sig, but im clueless as to how to make it clean, i can erase and the background and just have the charector, but i cant get the overlay colors off, if anyone can give me tips/programs on how to do this, would be greatly appreciated, if u need a sceenshots to see what i am dealing with i can do that, but im pretty sure u all know ur stuff, thanks in advance for help any of u offer to me 😄
