"I am sorry," says Melitus, "but I am not entirely sure what you are talking about. I simply employ Jericho because he is a useful operative for someone in my line of work. I have no idea..."
...ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"...how I should answer any questions about him apparently being dead. I can assure you he is not."
"I am Mors, I am leading this group for the moment," Mors says, leaving out his injuries for the fact that he would feel quite stupid talking of such things with a man that is in an iron lung.
He glances at Castor and Rade with a knowing look, trying to get it across that Melitus most liekly does not know of the Matrix and that they might want to leave most of the talking to the veterans.
"That is good to know. He was a good friend of mine, but he disappeared. He has recently turned up again, under your employment. I have but one question to trouble you with...where is Jericho?"
"That places me in an awkward position," says Melitus. "I have reason to doubt that..."
...sssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh...
"... you are in fact his friends. I think all those who are friends of Jericho, and there are not many, know already..."
...sssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhh...
"...how to find him. I suspect I would be doing him a great disservice by revealing his location."
"The thing is, We infact are not friends of Jerico, although a member of his party saved my life once. Our Employer was once a close friend of jerico. They worked togerther. But you see, one day while out on, well we call them missions, Jerico was killed. Well, at least we thought he was killed, we even saw his body, and the body of his closest Employee's. Yet very recently while on a 'mission' ourselves, we ran into the close employees of Jerico, That with his own eyes, our Employer, saw as dead. Although circumstances dictated that we had to go seperate ways, for the sake of survival, oour Employer, wants to meet with him again. And this is why we are here."
(sorry is that's a little confusing, I tryed to write Dallas as Employer with a capital E so ppl can understand it)
It's fine, Burn. I assume you are alluding to the destruction of the Bounty rather than the literal finding of Jericho's body. That was never done- there is not much left after a ship blows up and why search for the bodies anyway?
"Were it for my own part I would take your word," says Melitus, Rade. "But I can hardly..."
...ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"...take it upon myself to risk another's safety without his agreement. And I know he does not wish to be found. You say that..."
...ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"... you used to work with Jericho but thought him dead? Surely then, if he is alive, that must have been a forgery. And so therefore..."
...ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"... he must have forged such a thing to get away from your employers, so now I can only be more certain than before that..."
...ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"... he could not possibly want to meet you, representatives of his employers he escaped. However, I now have a better..."
...ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"...idea of who you are. Jericho did mention a case of unfortunate timing and crossed purposes at the airport. Neither your employers nor myself ended up with what we wanted. And I feel this puts your visit here in some..."
...ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"...perspective."
-
No offence to the guy, of course, but it takes forever for him to say anything...
"So now we reach an impasse," says Melitus. "You want information that I cannot think of any direct reason to give you. Though..."
...ssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh...
"...I can be certain if I do give it to you, a confrontation will ensue. But somehow I suspect that the prospect of extreme violence will not discourage you."
