I have to go shower so I can scrub off this pig vomit.

I don't actually know what he did, I just know that I saw it.

Wow, it's been awhile since this thread was in use.

If you have been it trouble, say like 3 years ago but you changed your act and were good for say like a year, or 2 are you still considered or does that bad patch tarnish your record, or at least quash your chances, or is it you have changed for the better, the past is forgotten?

Is there any check

What systems exist on these forums, that monitor the arbitrary use of power by moderators?

how does one become a moderator?

You become a moderator if you are asked to be one and you accept. Pretty simple, huh?

This is not a democracy. This forum is owned and operated by Raz*. He can do as he pleases. When you organize your own forum and sell advertising space, you can make your own rules up. That's how it works.

*he may have a co-owner...I am not sure.

lol

wow...

Lulz. We have rules to follow too, just like you guys. Mods can and have been removed for violation of them. So no, it's not just a bunch of power and a free pass. So you can lay the conspiracy theories and abuse of power accusations to rest, which are inevitably all that comes of these types of threads.

I do know for a fact that there have been incidences where one has become a Moderator b/c of having a good friendship with a fellow Moderator......not because they have good moderating qualities.

You do know that Raz allows Moderators to nominate and to Vote on who becomes a Moderator as well right? It's not solely Raz's choice as of now.

He of course could change this.

There is a long standing rule that anyone who asks how to be a mod can't be a mod.

I am not sure whether that is a rule. I think it is just a thing new users are told when they make the "let me be a Mod" thread the next day.

Probably. It should be a rule though.

That is correct.
