"So...How are the others?" Shadow asked, the chip in his head hurting again

"I have no idea... Vash found me, then didn't return. I just hope nothing has got to him."

"We can only hope," Shadow said, "we need to get as far away from here as possible"

"me to "

Syrenity walked towards Shadow and raised her eyebrows.

"What now?"

"I don't know. We go somewhere quiet, rest up and then get the hell outta this state."

Syrenity nodded enthusiastically.

"Sounds like a plan my friend. May I accompany you?"

"The more the merrier..." Shadow said aloud.

"Just one more to kill..." His fathers voice came into his head.
"Shut it Johnny Boy!" Shadow mentally told the voice.
"You shall address me as fath...."
"My head! My rules!"

Shadow shook his head, focusing on the matter at hand again

"Shadow, do you know where the nearest road is?" Zack asked, "We can take a car, or something."

"How should I know?" Shadow asked, "I'm not some great leader of mutants. If I had to take a guess, I'ld say that way" Shadow said it pointing in a random direction.

Syrenity stepped forward and put her hand on Shadow's arm, pulling him around to face her.

"Don't get so heated, the road is not far..... united, we win this. Bad blood between the mutants automatically gives the Hunters the upper hand."

She looked him dead in the eye and did not smile.

"For the Hunters to be given yet another advantage against us would be tragic."

The chip in Shadow's head burned, he had to rest.

"We need to get somewhere where we can rest soon."

"Everyone get on my back" justice asked as he turned him self into another dragon

"Justice, I think we should go as ourselves and the road is that way with a motel about 2 miles from here, afterall I do know the grounds around here...." Jim said to the others.

"ok"

"Jim, lead the way, Shadow is exhausted and we must find a place to rest... and soon"

Karen eyed Syrenity suspiciously and followed Jim as he lead the way out of the forest.

Syrenity caught Karen's glance with a sinking heart. She knew she had to make these people trust her, but she was running out of options. She quickened her pace and fell into step beside Karen, not speaking, but making it clear she wanted to talk.

Zack just followed. Not speaking.

Syrenity sighed as she walked along.... she sensed a definite divide between the group, something that would only hinder their efforts at escaping the Hunters.
