emma is NOT average looking.She is a pretty girl, no denying that and she KNOWS it.IMO it is her looks that were the ONLY cause for her getting the part. WB knows the power image projects in this world today.They did not cast average looking kids because than little immature kids won't spend all their money going to drool over someone who is NOT socalled " enbodyment of the Goddess of Beauty, in fact she just might be the most beatiful young woman I have ever seen."

I think that she has played Hermione very well, especially in The Prisoner of Azkaban. From the Sorcerer's Stone she was the perfect Miss Know-it-all, and now she's doing a nice job of maturing a bit in the movies. I think that she is an attractive girl, but I don't think that's why she has all the fans personally.

her acting is splendid for a little 13 year old girl, and her acting fits her characters perfectly. And it seems that she actually does take her "hermoine" character flaws from her own real life, which is what any good actor should do.

Ok, if you've never met an Emma fan who isn't what you listed, you've totally overlooked my existence. Can you not tell by now that I'm one of the most conceited people you'll ever have the opportunity of meeting (see...?) and that I'll have more self-esteem than you'll ever have?!? WB is a genius. They've cast the perfect girl. How can you tell? Gee, take a look at how much fame and fortune she gets, how many girls idolize her, not to mention her acting reviews are, for the most part, flawless. Because--wake up!--true acting talent isn't really worth much nowadays. Face it, no matter how much you hate it. Otherwise both Emma and Dan (dunno how he is in PoA tho) would be banished from the movies, along with Hilary Duff, Haylie Duff, and God knows how many other Britney Spears wannabe actresses.
