Nine Inch Nails - Metal (Gary Numan)
Tool - No Quarter (Led Zeppelin)
Orgy - Blue Monday (New Order)
Godhead - Eleanor Rigby (The Beatles)
Deadsy - Tom Sawyer (Rush)
Heaven Falls Hard - Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Divison)
Korn & Chino Moreno - Wicked (Ice Cube)
A Perfect Circle - Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie (Black Flag)
Stuck my neck out a little there, pretty much all of those are covers of classic songs. Godhead's version of Eleanor Rigby is unbelievably good, second only to Johnny's version of In My Life as the best Beatles cover I've heard. At the risk of crucifixtion, I prefer the Deadsy version of Tom Sawyer to the original.

well I don't particularly like the song "Music" originally done by Madonna but Out of Your Mouth did a pretty good cover of it.
Oh and the worst cover is knockin on heavens door when Avril Lavigne re-did it. She ruined it. Or take my breath away originally done by Berlin and then Jessica Simpson made the cover. Another horrible one.
No, the worst ever was when Avril Lavigne did "Chop Suey". It was disgusting.
Oh, and Tool's cover of "Terrible Lie" is great.

And if we're talking about bad covers, lets not forget Busted's cover of Teenage Kicks and Staind's cover of Sober.
Oh and another good one, Deftones cover of The Chauffeur by Duran Duran. Needless to say, it's much better than the original.
bump in order to keep the balance with the bad covers thread
