what makes a true goth?

the people are really strict with ours, no ankle socks, no tennishoes that are not mostly navy, black, or white, no earings, blah blah blah...

If all else fails, go back to my answer. Tell them your goth because you can't explain your reasons for their minds aren't capable of plausible comprehension.
