Under the Sea...

Ewan suddenly turned to see what had happened to Thay. The "king" spider was huge. (For those of us who have played Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time it's abou the size of Queen Gohma) He lunged at it and landed on its head. His sword started to glow as it sensed the presence of evil. Ewan held on to the hairs on top of its head and stabbed it in its single, glowing yellow eye several times. This sent it into a rage. He stabbed his sword deep into its head. It immediately started to lose its balance and trip over itself. However, it was clear that it would not be enough to kill it.

Thay snarled at the monstrosity, and it snarled back,blwoing chunks of mucus into Thay's face. Thay continued to fight the monster, jabbing at open spots, severing its incredibly strong and sword resistant limbs, and using the chaos to his advantage... but it wasnt enough. The knig stabbed Thay in the chest and watched him float to the bottom of the bedrock, then crept downwards and looked at him evilly. "Gods, grant us victory, in my death!" Thay exploded inlight... then the real explosion came, blowing away most of the spider army in the massive underwater explosion.

Ewan was blwon all the way up to the surface, but he survived... Thayhad not...

Most of the army had left the palace when the explosion rocked the sea floor. Lila was knocked off of her feet inside the palace when she was getting a better dagger to go and help when it hit. The cabinet of swords fell over on her, knocking her out.

Thay had died... for real. There was no coming back for him now... Thay found himself in a white room, and a merfish stood in front of him... he was gllowing green... it was the king of the dead. "Youre time has come... but, the gods want you to acsend... to watch over your kingdom... you will not have to deal with the dead."

Ewan was stunned momentarily but quickly regained his senses. He swam back down to the bottom and knelt next to the king's body. He closed his eyes and a single tear streaked down his face. He cradled the king's head in his hands. He recited an ancient mer poem, the same one the priest had said at his own father's funeral: "Sleep softly on, beloved one
Take with you all our dreams
To rest in noontide waters
Beside old silent corals."
Ewan kissed Thay's forehead.

((and no, I didn't make that up, I got it out of a 'Redwall' book and changed some of the wording so it would work in this context))

Well in that case... He found Thay's trident but nothing else so he stuck the trident in the sand, said the poem and got done with it

~Huh? Why would it be over? No offence, but... and why did he die anyway?~

Ewan took the king's trident and swam back to the palace. He found Lila unconcious under the sword thingie that tipped over on her. He threw down the trident, picked Lila up, and took her to a bed to lie down. Ewan stroked her hair gently. "Lila.. wake up.. please wake up..."

~yes hes really dead... at least non-corporeal.~

~Why?~

A soft moan escaped her lips as she slowly tilted her head to the otherside to face him. Her eyes slowly fluttered open. She felt like her ribs were crushed, but nothing was broken. She smiled gently. "Ewan." Her voice sounded a little distant, and dreamy. She placed her hand on his.

"Are you alright? What happened?"

"I.. I don't know. I think there was an earthquake and it knocked me off of my feet and knocked the sword cabinet down. Didn't you feel it?"
