i never got ending credits

it simply cut straight to cortana (if thats the computer chick lol) and that squid thing talking with her.....but is that something bad? i mean the squid saved master chief and brought him together with the arbitor guy to stop the second halo.......but did it end (before the ending credits) with matser chief saying he was gonna stop the halo?......the way it happened for my game was questionable, i dont know if i missed something, but i played it on normal

the arbiter beats the final brute, and take out the green key thingy. you then see halo activate, and the other halos become active. they can be activated by "the ark" which i THINK is what the Chief is in. He tells the commander he is going to end the war.you'll remember Cortana was left on Halo to activate the ship's nuclear reactors like she did in Halo 1.... and the Chief went off without her. The flood-like tentacle thing does not intend to harm Cortana (nor could he) but just wants to ask her questions, given that she also has a great knowledge of Halo. you should get credits BEFORE that scene.
so is the squid the flood brain? it's name is gravemin or gravelmind or something like that...and cortana said something about being tricked by it...
if I'm right in my guesses then of course it would want to stop halo from activating. it would cripple the flood.
and cortana staying behind confused me. if cortana stayed behind to detonate the fusion reactors,...how? the ship is on the high charity. it couldnt blow up halo.
also, it sucks to be covenant...or anyhting sentient in the universe....i man, the flood successfully infested the holy city high charity...think if the millions who died / were infected. and they have a huge planet sized ship...wait no they dont...the ark left..so it's crippled...
The most popular theory is that Earth is the Ark, not the ship MC is on, I mean it wouldn't make sense that the Covenent would've had the Ark in their posession the whole time and not have used it for their great journey. And another theory on Cortana is that she has become rampant and power hungry because in the Halo books it says that AI does that after 7 years. Or she is stalling to give MC time to destroy the Ark.
well yes and no.
I think the ships supposed to be the ark. i mean it's the first thing on screen after they mention it. besides the covenant prophet left on it, instead of a regular carrier. but earth does make an interesting idea....why else would the covenant have shown up if they didnt know earth was the home planet? I had hoped we would see ruins like those on reach....
also, while rampancy is a re-occuring theme in bungie games, with the rampant AI Durrandal in the marathon game series, cortana hasnt been around long enough to go rampant, although absorbing halo+cov knowledge did shorten her life span....

Well, it would make sense for the Ark to be the ship that MC was on (the Ark of the Covenant...coincidence?). I'm still a little confused though, I'm gonna have to beat it again on Heroic to try and get the whole story down. So it is my understanding that the squid thingy is the leader of the flood. And after the credits, it starts to question Cortana. I think this might hint that Cortana has some sort of hidden agenda of her own, and that's why she tells MC to leave her behind on Halo. But they also say sometime during the game that the Covenant was surprised to see humanity on Earth. Why would they come to Earth if they didn't know humans lived there? Here’s a thought, perhaps the beings that built the Halo defense system were humans?? Ancient humans, and some sort of freak accident created the flood...and they had no other choice but to build these Halo weapons to destroy them. They fled to Earth and created some sort of control system (the Ark) somewhere...actually I don't know how that would make a lot of sense. I'll have to play through the game again, to try and understand the story better. Or maybe the biblical story of the Ark goes along with it. That ship MC was riding was the Ark the ancient humans built to bring all the non-infected people to a planet away from the flood (Earth) and then kept the flood on the Halos. But I don’t understand why the Halos have planet-like features like water and plants if they are meant to be weapons. Are they just used to hold the flood? That’s what I always assumed. And if the flood ever got off Halo, then someone would have to activate the Halo to destroy everything around that particular Halo in order to stop the flood from spreading. But the whole squid thing kind of confuses me too, and its relationship with Cortana. Maybe Cortana knows more then we think she does. Again, I’m gonna have to play through again to get everything straight. If I’m wrong somewhere on this post please correct me, or fill me in on something that is unclear. Thanks!
Also, are there any secrets you can unlock at all? There's got to be SOMETHING extra for beating the game on Legendary or something! Anyone find any interesting secrets?
