"What the hell is a matter with him..."

"It's not that bad anymore." She told him as she looked up at him. "He just hits me, he stopped with everything else." She hoped he wouldn't start again.

"He.... hits you!?"

She just nodded.

"That can't continue. What're we gonna do about it?"

She looked up quickly. "Nothing. He can't know you know. He'd kill me."

"No he won't." he slipped her a knife. "Don't be afraid to use it if he tries to kill you."

She dropped the knife quickly and it fell to the floor. She remembered all of the horrible things he did to her, things she didn't even want to think about, let alone things she didn't want to tell Paul. However there was no way she would be able to kill him, she didn't have it in her. "I can't." She said quickly.

"Oky then..." he gave her a hug instead.

She hugged him back. The bruise on her eyes still throbbed. "Now you know why I don't like going home."

"Yes. Thre isn't anyything else... is there?"

"No." She replied quickly.

That seemed to quickly "You sure?"

She nodded. "Yeah." She pulled away from him and looked down, putting the ice back on her eye.

"Okay."

She felt guilty lying to him. "No, actually. That's not all." She didn't look up at him as she spoke, if she looked at him, she wouldn't be able to tell him. "He's the one who I... um... I first, slept with. The first and only until you."

His mouth dropped open. "How... he molested you!?"

"It wasn't rape." She told him quietly. "I was young and stupid. He said he loved me, so when my mom was away he would...." She trailed off. "He pressured me into doing it a couple of times. I told him I didn't want to anymore, and that's when he began hitting me. He said if I told anyone he would kill me."

"Oh...' Paul looked very, very shocked...

She didn't look up still, she wouldn't be able to bare the way he looked at her now. She told him before she didn't want to tell him because he would look at her differently, and even though he said he wouldn't, she knew he did. "Yeah." She whispered, looking at the ground.
