You must live in a fantasy world ,backfire. You really dont seem to go for the historical, fact based movies. You find them repetitive?? Again a misuse of the word, though. I like the movie myself, although I wished things would have turned out better in the end!

What "true, real " movies have you enjoyed?

Very few, most of them are boring. Again, just because something really happened doesn't mean it can't be crappy and boring. If that was the case then all those lame documentaries that we were forced to sit through in school would be considered pure gold. Of course, everyone who sees them are bored out of their mind.

Anyways, to answer your question.... A few movies I like that are based on true events are....

Platoon

Paths of Glory

Henry - Portrait of a Serial Killer (very very loosely based on what the real life serial killer Henry Lee Lucas did, it's not very accurate from what I've heard, but most things based on true events aren't)

Schindlers List, althought it's a bit too long to watch very often...

Glory

That's about all I can think of right now.

I love it Love it Love it! Plus I thought It was good 👿

Black Hawk Down is seriously a great movie. I love the soundtrack.

The first man to get shot and killed on the American side was actually my best friend's uncle. Pilla, I believe he was?

I've seen it. I think I'll stick with the book.

This is another movie that put me to sleep, literally. I rented it and after about 35 minutes of it I was asleep. The constant action got really boring, there was almost no character development in this movie. People died and I didn't even know who they were or cared that they died. It's hard to get into a movie, especially a war movie when you don't care about the characters involved.

Thought the movie was way to repetitive.

I agree 100 percent with you.

I thought it was great.

I agree with basically everything Backfire said about this movie.

Ridley scott has a tendency to add things into a movie that don't matter or don't make sense. He can either do the job right, or do the job wrong. For instance: Gladiator was excellent, but Kingdom of heaven really lagged behind. Alien was awesome, but Black hawk down really isn't my jam. Scott isn't the greatest role caster in the world either. Having Orlando bloom in KOH bothered me to death. and Black hawk down had too many familiar faces. to make a long story short, the only part I really enjoyed of Black hawk down was when they were watching "The jerk"...
