Bombbad???

Is Bombbad a good thing or a bad thing?

In the beginning of TPM, when the jedi rescue the queen, Jar Jar says they're "bombbad" ( I could have misspelled that) ....which could give it a meaning akin to cool

Later, when the queen and her entourage meet Boss Nass to plead for help, he says they're all "bombbad"....which would give the word a negative connotation...

( I'd say any help here would be hot....but that would make me look stupid 😄 )

hey you are already ... nah, won't say it...

bombad is just a word with no real meaning I think...
in Belgium we subtitle every movie and they translated it in
"bomvette" wich is bomb-fat in English, no meaning to it as it can be used positive and negative

Isn;t Jar-Jar referring to rhe droids thee Jedi killed when they rexcued the queen? "Bombbad" simply means "Blown to pieces', I think. As in 'bombed bad'.

Boss Nass also promoted him to bombad general, remember

right...so is it a good thing or a bad thing?

"We make you bombad general"
"General?"
*faints*

I think that bombad is now positive (if it is pos or neg at all!)

Thanks...... 🙂

No no no, the bombads CAUSE something to be bombadded! So nothing to do with positive or negative. Bombadded=destroyed. Bombads destroy things.

what? can you repeat that in plain English?

Can you imagine any non-star wars fans looking in on this topic? 🤣 They'd think we're crazy.

you mean we aren't????

😂

I think that bombad means: Fight or war.

I repeat myself

in the phrase:
"We gonna make you bombad general"

that doesn't mean fight or war!
I think it's just a (damn what's the correct word???? It's a word you always use, sometimes without even knowing it)

Blimey, people have made a mountain out of this!

Bombads blow things up! To be bombadded is to be destroyed! There is no more complication!

I don't like that explication!

Ush, with that meaning it sounds like
"We gonna make you blow up general."

well, everyone wants to kill Jar Jar ...

No! It means 'We are going to make you general in charge of the things that blow things up'- the bombads. Just like being called, just as a wild example, 'bombard general'- as many people have been historically.

Like I say, bombads DESTROY things. They are objects. You can be the general of them.

While 'Bombadding' is the destroying of things. It is a verb.

What don;t you like about that, yerss?

It's only a corruption of 'badly bombed', you know.

I don't like a lot 🙂

What makes you think that it means that?
