Pyro is a wuss. He couldn't just punch or something like that; He had to use his power; it wasn't really smart (and I admit bobby also didn't really have to use his powers; but he did it to help that *******; not just to show off like Pyro)

he couldn't punch cuz that kid's friend was just next to him and it was easier and safer to use his opwers instead

Safer? Ok;
1. He didn't have to do anything because the kid wasn't trying to hurt him. He was just showing off.
2. Whatever you think about iceman; he was there so he could help pyro fighting him.
3. Everyone from xavier's school were there. They wouldn't just stand there and watch Pyro being beaten up.

I preffer Iceman's character, but Pyro's abilities

Any kind of violence doesn't make you tough; but because of his using powers he has put in danger all mutants.

of course since Pyro wasn't known to be a mutant by the kids... by using his powers no one would know a mutant was responsable and would instead think it was a fluke accident.
