I love Anke Eißmann's pix because they are so close to the books and original texts - I don't always like her techniques / style, but the pictures are magnificent.
Here's one of Lúthien Tinúviel - the only portraying of her I know that really represents the atmosphere in the books and isnt full of weird glittering lights and other "elfy magic" 😖
She looks exactly like Tolkien describes her in the Lay of Leithian -
Her robe was blue as summer skies,
but grey as evening were her eyes;
'twas sewn with golden lilies fair,
but dark as shadow was her hair.
Her feet were light as bird on wing,
her laughter lighter than the spring [...]
'A! Lúthien, Tinúviel,
