"kakashi's rampage"

/topic

There were more interesting things to show than that lol.

the manga just seems like a waste right now, this war isn't even up to anyone's expectations.

you edited the bit about part II. i agree, just look at tsunade's chackra stock super boost all of a sudden. one minute she does creation rebirth and turns into a hag, next she heals almost a complete village of people and just goes into a short coma, then she has an even better version of the technique and she's going all out

even kakashi doesn't seem to tire out anymore. those two years were really good to him

The War is good in my opinion.
The only issues I have is that secondary established characters on the Shinobi Alliance are not being killed, and we are not seeing a lot of ET'd ninja like Kimimaro and Chiyo. The fight involving Kakashi and Zabuza was great. It should have lasted longer.
That, as well as how easily Deidara was dealt with, and Sasori being punked by Kankuro.

Yeah, I edited it out because I cannot remember if Part 1 had that problem.
I personally find Tsunade having enough chakra to use the seal soon after the Pain Invasion as stupid. Heck, she had the seal on as soon as she came out of the coma.
I don't mind it if she can use an advanced version of her Creation Rebirth.

Not unless he uses eye magic. 313
Oh, and Onoki is a far worse magic spammer than any Sharingan/Rinnegan user.

"So we're here and Naruto has been talking about 'Who could possibly be under that mask', which has gone on far too long.'"

When they recapped Chapter 560. I did facepalm there.

The f***? A fraction of a chapter spent on the Alliance now contemplating Tobi's Identity, which Tobi then uses in a later chapter to tease both Naruto and the reader in what is one of the best moments of Part 2, and it has gone on for far too long? Damn.

Indeed. I think these guys just really don't get what Kishi is doing. Kishi very much likes to tease his audience, particularly the ones who do get into the story and pay attention to the details. And these guys really seem to have contempt for fans like that. haermm

Well, having the seal is fine- presumably when we first saw her with it after waking up, it was 'there,' but on empty, at like 0.5% of it's normal amount. It'll look the same empty or full, she was just using her chakra to put it there.

Then, each day, it has a chunk of S-class's chakra dumped into it until full.

Probably. That tends to happen all the time.

Me too. 👆

1) the whole resurrecting those with emotional connections and having them fight was almost completely squandered

2) barely any alliance casualties

3) established villains are being lamed out

oh, but you dug the hanzo fight.... come now

enies lobby stomps this war, let alone marineford

Buuuuuuuuuuuut this is also pretty true.

don't act like you're up on something, we all know what's happening it's just that it's lame AF

he overhauled the manga to cater to the uchiha/senju love story and our issue is that he bamboozled us by using a good manga as an introduction. that's dirty, not to mention is burning through what should be years of power-ups in months cause he wants to end the manga

naruto did jack shit during the time skip compared to what he's gained post TWO YEAR TRAINING WITH JIRAYA

Not really. The heart and soul of Naruto has always been the relationship between Sasuke and Naruto, since chapter 3. The stuff that came along with that is all good and such but it was never at the heart.

And...well I actually don't think Marineford was a better war.

Fair point, but she had *just* woken up from a coma brought about by her lack of chakra. I'm not surprised she had just enough chakra to restart her transformation, but storing some, even a tiny bit?

The war is still in its second day, and funnily enough, it seems to be nearing its climax.

Lol

Marineford lasted like an hour.

War tend to not take long in manga. Even Bleach handled it's war in...probably a couple of weeks.

nope

naruto and sasuke just represent the whole loser vs genius angle present in a lot of character relationships, every generation has that:

neji/lee, hiruzen/danzo, sasuke/naruto, jiraya/orochimaru, kakashi/obito, etc

the soul of naruto is the loser overcoming the odds through hard work and perseverance, and the second naruto started getting too much power too quickly and the revelation that his family is indeed mighty the manga died. the sharingan and all that is annoying but sasuke isn't the linchpin of the manga. neji could have been swapped out for him

An hour? Screw OP. Also, "its", and I edited the post after realizing I did not quote Neph like I intended to. estahuh

HST Manga Wars suck. The prep for Bleach's and Naruto's war took decades.

I really don't know what to say about this except...I think you're looking at it wrong.

When you look at the early scenes between the characters, there is more than just a rivalry. Naruto in it's essence is more about a boy creating bonds with people he cares about. And Sasuke was the first bond he made, save for the one with Iruka. Naruto...doesn't really see Sasuke as a rival. At least not anymore. Sasuke is his friend first and foremost and for Naruto, that means pretty much everything to him. Naruto is willing to put his dream on hold in order to save his friend from ruining his life because well...Naruto feels like Sasuke's presence in his life made it better. He's like a brother to him.

Sasuke just happens to be the only Naruto character this could have worked with.

Marineford has Whitebeard. That alone makes it better than this war 😎

But the spur of the moment power-ups are annoying especially when Naruto first got the KMC boost.

Soo....this means that Naruto wants to bang Sasuke right?

by no means am i saying you are wrong, but the sasuke/naruto rift is a subplot imo that spawned because of the true, original villain of the manga, orochimaru. the manga deviated into a sort of equal parts sasuke manga and naruto manga, and it will inevitable become a naruto manga once more once they mend their relationship when the big bad is beaten. naruto becoming hokage is the reason naruto does what he does, though sasuke's initial rivalry is a motivational factor for the both of them.

Whitebeard is overrated. uhuh

Maybe.

Two things:

You seem to acknowledge that the manga has split into parts for Sasuke and Naruto. How does a mangaka even begin to go in this direction if the manga's heart and soul isn't about those two. Kishi even stated in an interview that whenever he is focusing on one of them, the other is in the back of his head. The manga is planned around the two.

And...Naruto becoming Hokage is not the reason he does things.

http://www.mangahere.com/manga/naruto/v01/c004/6.html

He wants to be the Hokage because he wants to be acknowledged. Being acknowledged is why Naruto initially does the things he does. Naruto matured and started realizing what being a Hokage meant and it just still happens to be the thing Naruto can do. But the most important thing to Naruto?

So is Itachi but...never mind 😐

To this day I wonder why Orochimaru couldn't have stuck around for a bit longer. Or at least leave a lasting mark on his verse like Medusa did: for those who follow Soul Eater.

If Naruto/Sasuke is supposed to mirror Hashirama/Madara, I'm going too laugh if we find out that those two actually had a thing: aside from killing each other in a valley.

.... that applies to all people, even garra is special to naruto

naruto caring for people is what the hokage does, so i'm not going to separate the two, but i'm not going to say that sasuke is exponentially more valuable to him than say hinata is, he just has to put in more effort to save sasuke cause he's brainwashed.

Ever heard of the story of the Shepard that had 99 sheep and 1 was missing? The 1 that was missing was most dear to him because it was gone.

Same applies. Naruto...didn't have any friends in the beginning. Then came Iruka, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi and so Naruto had a lot of friends. And then because of some evil dude and a lot of baggage on his friends part, Naruto has to deal with the loss of a friend. To him, that is just unthinkable. Which is why he is so adamant about saving Sasuke. That is why during the Kage arc he was having a really difficult time. He was given the choice between saving his friend and risking the lives of all his other friends or just letting go and losing that friend forever.

For a character like Naruto, that is a real dilemma. And again, I can't see why you don't accept the relationship between the two as the main heart of the manga. So much of Naruto's character is tied into Sasuke.
