eh i dont know if they were better, naruto comes up with some pretty complex plans on the spot, and part of what i meant was that when naruto does it on the spot he is unpredictable so shika would have a hard time planning ahead against naruto, plus naruto is WAY out of his legue now lol and naruto is still a gennin

Shikamaru has a way of making people do what he wants them to by using strategy. Naruto doesn't fight anybody who does that. And Shikamaru has always fought people out of his league..It's why he's only got one win. But his brains is why even though he was the weakest of the people who went to bring back Sasuke he was the only one not hurt...unless you count him breaking his own finger. Naruto not thinking would lead him into Shika's traps easier..And Naruto isn't really that unpredictable...Spam shadow clones, and rasengans until the enemy is down. Unless he goes tailed-mode or Kyuubi takes over.

your right, for the most part, its true that naruto does the shaddow clones a lot, but he surprises everyone with some new thing he tries (and usually succedes) i dont think that shika could be able to make a plan that would defeate naruto naruto always finds a way out of a certain situation

Nobody saw the Rasenshuriken coming. That was something completely worked on his own. Not to mention the giant resengans. I do believe that Naruto has become an excellent strategist. Yeah he uses shadow clone jutsus constantly. He doesn't use them the same way everytime. I believe he intentionally missed on the first two to let Pain believe he was finished with his attack. Pain miscalculated the stamina with chakra Naruto has.

Whereas Naruto can come up with a strategy that allows him to kick someone's ass with his awesome power, Shikamaru is nowhere near as strong, nor has such a variety of techniques.

Whereas Naruto is capable of using his brain, Shikamaru essentially HAS to use his brain every fight. His main technique is shadow possession. And you can't just USE that attack unless your using your head.

Indeed.

A lot of "fans" rip on Kishimoto for Naruto spamming Shadow Clones. That's stupid because every character has a "favorite" or specific set of techniques that they use all the time.

Except for Oro, the 3rd Hokage...and maybe someone else that I'm forgetting. But, they are both Jutsu gods.

Well actually even Orochimaru favors the physical/permanent jutsu that makes his body elastic.

Odds are Orochimaru has his ass full of Jutsu. Sarutobi commented on it when he took his arms.

I never said Naruto using Shadow Clones over and over, and Rasengan was bad. It's Naruto's fighting style. It's just not very unpredictable like it's been said to be. He pretty much does the same thing in every fight. The only real times he's used shadow clone that was surprise was against Neji and then against Kakuzu. Though the times he's used it to dodge in mid-air and stuff have been pretty cool it's not exactly something you have to be overly intelligent to do.

But you have to admit that most of the things he does, and in most of his fights he's pretty much charge in headfirst not exactly using his head but trying to overcome them with strength.

Yeah, that was true with the fights before Pain. Honestly though, you have to give Naruto credit for what he has done in this fight with Pain. Several times has he just caught Pain off guard. Naruto has matured. I don't think you can say that's all he does now. I mean yes, Naruto and early Shippuden you could easily say that. I think you have to see how he fights with various other characters after Pain before you can make that sound judgement.

That and his next battle is probably going to be against an Uchiha.

this chapter was amazing!!

the countdown made it have so much suspense

and all his old techniques; shadow shuriken, naruto 1000 combo, and of course the rasengan just amazing

yeah i dont know whats wrong with my friends they all said it sucked cuz nothing happend...im like well a huge fight happend. they say that nothing was resolved *sigh* i dont know sometimes they just need a chapter just for a fight
