Never mind the fact that Madara announced his arrival by stating that he wanted to chat with Naruto.

they figured that he has to be solid in order to touch and capture Naruto and they'll attack him then

it was a pretty short distance between them and Naruto, i'm sure Kakashi's chidori would've been fast enough to hit him, or at least make him move/dematerialize

What you guys are ignoring is that Madara is a weaka*s. Naruto is likely to stomp him by himself, the only thing that he is good at is hiding, fleeing and to manipulate people.

I'm trying to see a pattern here: Sasuke joins Orochimaru, his enemy, to beat a bigger enemy: Itachi, then he joins Madara to beat a bigger enemy: Danzo. Conclusion: Sasuke is a power-wh*re.

Sasuke was OK until Itachi showed up. I mean he was a loner but at least he had a life, somewhat.

That's all fine and dandy, but Madara 'announced' his arrival and Naruto had enough time to pull off a Rasengan before Yamato and Kakashi showed up. Had he not announced himself, he would have had a sufficient amount of time to capture Naruto.
Considering he was able to capture Torune before Fu could move, I'd think that he could have captured Naruto even after Yamato and Kakashi showed up.

Well despite sasuke's stupid decisions he's still alive. That counts for something doesn't it? Maybe something stupid and highly convenient in Sasuke's favor happens and he becomes the main antagonist.

Lately madara seems like an idiot, it's like he can't figure out how to do anything right now that his akatsuki supporters are gone.
