which i admit this thread cant be closed as it is his opinion and it isnt bashing him and he didnt say 'you dig'

white lady- i have no clue, as usual i'm kinda confused, but since i did come in here, i'll state my opinion!!! sam rocks and sean astin did a good job

Sean showed so much emotion in his role of Sam and after the movie when i read the books again i thought that sean portrayed him perfectly. never have i seen an actor do so well at a supporting role. never has an actor made me cry in a movie. sean is absoulutley awesome and i love him, u should too!

Astin couldnt have been better.

the sam in the book appears to know much more than he seems, and also has a great courage. but the movie sam always blubbers and whines. it made him look weak, i thought sam was made of tougher stuff than that despite him shedding tears over bill the pony etc.......

i was wondering, where did he blubber and whine in the movie?

i found frodo alot more annoying than sam... i know i'm opening up a can of worms saying that but o well, sam was the only one in the movie that also was able to make me cry, well besides theoden dying scene, that got me, sean astin did such a great job

Sam was great, and Seas Astin is a great actor, I he was going to be dominated for an Academy Award 😮

I was furious when he was nominated for anything though I think I can understand, LotR is a very ensemble piece.

LOTR is good because of ALL of the good actors, and actresses for those who like the female roles best, I would have disliked it if anyone one of them wasn't convincing as their roll... but I love Sam the most... but I've loved him most since I read the books the first time, I actually thought in TTT he got a bit irritating, but in ROTK he really became the best charactor, pretty much the same thing with the books too...
