Which means that he is one of the blessed, made by Ilúvatar to create the world together with him - all these beings that already were before Ea was are called Ainur, the Holy Ones, and among those who later came to Arda, the 15 (later 14) mightiest were called the Valar while the others are the Maiar. And among the Valar there were again some mightier than the other, those were the Aratar

Lol, I wish I knew all this stuff 😖 I Tried reading the Silmarillion but got too confused in the first cuple of pages!

Also, one other question. I was flicking thru my mates tolkien encyclopeia and it showed Melkor and this big spider (Ungoliant or sumthing) I would like to know how he/she is related to Shelob?

She - yes, Ungoliant or Ungweliante - is Shelob's mother (shelob is her youngest daughter).

oh, duh, im stupid, i just got confused. i got Maia and Vala or messed up...
