Elrohir burst into the hotel room, starting Maik awake and scaring Sonia. "Maik! It was Caldwell! Caldwell was the one following you!" Maik looked at him in confusion. "Caldwell? It couldn't be him. He wouldn't dare! Two years ago..." Two years ago!" Elrohir interrupted " Two years ago you were married to Alex and one of the greatest aurors in Britain! The Dragon is dead Maik and he knows it!" Maik glared at him angerly, red seeping into her eyes again. She couldn't beleive Elrohir had mentioned Alex in front of Sonia like that. "How could he know?" Maik demanded Elrohir sighed impatiently "You aren't wearing the ring, Maik."
Sonia backed into a corner scared Maik might lash out at Elrohir. None of what he says is making sense, but Maik seems to understand it. "Excuse me, but how am I involved?" sonia asked a little scared.
"I don't know." Maik answered Sonia, not taking her eyes off of Elrohir. "I can't do it Elrohir, not again. Not without Alex." She said quietly. She turned and stood in front of the fire with her back to him. "You have to Maik! It isn't just about you anymore! Sonia and I are in danger now too. You have to fight Caldwell again." Elrohir insisted, following her to the fire.
Maik looked at Sonia in surprise, as if she'd just noticed she was there. "She's right Maik." Elrohir said. "It's time for you to let Alex go." Maik looked at him for a while, then pulled a chain from under her shirt which had two rings on it. A small gold ring with a diamond and a larger silver ring with a dragon etched on its face. She pulled the gold ring off the chain and dropped it in the fire. "Requiescat in pace." she said and put the large silver ring on her right hand. "Thank you ." she said quietly.
