The Yule Ball

"Thank you sir. Am I dismissed?"

"Yes." Artorius replied. "Good evening Descartes."

Elrohir slipped his helmet on and hopped onto Maik's motorcycle, making sure the spare helmet was on the seat behind him. He'd always wondered why Maik liked this thing so much, and now he was going to find out why..

Descartes slipped out of the room. His cheeks now returning to their normal color.

"How'd it go?" Maik asked him as he walked out.

Elrohir pulled to a stop in front of the Huberts' gate and sat for a moment, trying to catch his breath again. He now loved this crazy muggle machine. having caught his breath, he pulled his helmet off and walked to the gate and rang the bell.

"It went okay." Descartes says smiling.

Sonia pushed the button opening the gate for Elrohir. She however was on the steps petting her cat.

"Okay?" Maik said with a smile. "Meaning he didn't threaten to skin you alive or anything?"

"Hi." Elrohir said. "Who's the cat?"

"Nope." Descartes smiled. "Um, would you like to go out sometime. . .together?"

Sonia smiled. "A stray." she says. "Wow, that's awesome." she jumps up and inspects the motorcycle.

"I'd love to." Maik answered

"you like it?" Elrohir asked, grinning. "It's Maik's, I had to beg her to let me borrow it. But it's an amazing thing.."

Sonia nodded. "I heard the adrenaline rush can be quite the high." she says reverently running her fingertips over it's side.

Descartes smiled broadly. "I'm honored." he says. "So Um when would be a good time?"

Maik shrugged. "Whenever you like."

"You want to go for a ride?" Elrohir asked, holding out his extra helmet to her.

Sonia hugged Elrohir tightly before taking the helmet and putting it on. "This is going to be bloody awesome."

Descartes smiled. "How about lunch tomorrow? Do you have any plans?"

"none." Maik smiled

Elrohir grinned broadly and put his helmet on and situated himself on the bike. He reached behind him and patted the seat. "Up you go!"

"Well, um, would you like to have lunch with me?" Descartes ran his hand through his hair giving Maik a sheepish smile.

Sonia slid on behind Elrohis wrapping her arms around his waist. "Okay." she says laying her head on his back.

"That would be great." Maik grinned. "Tomorrow it is."

Elrohir kicked the engine to life and roared down the street, not really sure where he was going, but not caring either.

Descartes smiles blushing deeply. "Pick you up around 11:30?"

Sonia enjoyed the ride. She actually like being this close to Elrohir and she didn't blush as much when he culdn't see her face.

"Sounds good. "Maik nodded, Descartes' blushing making her own cheecks go red slightly.

Elrohir smiled, loving the feel of Sonia's arms around him. He glanced up at the sky, hoping it wouldn't start snowing yet.

If it had snowed, Sonia would have liked it more. She smiled and took a deep breath. She was enjoying this too much.

Descartes smiled. "So, um, what now?"

Maik shrugged. "I don't know. What do you want to do?"

Elrohir stole a glance at his watch and frowned slightly. He couldn't keep her forever, her father would murder him. Elrohir decided to take the long way back to Sonia's house. No sense in getting there too fast...

Sonia hadn't even noticed the time. Her eyes had been closed the whole time.

Descartes bit his lip. "I'm not sure. I just want to be with you, get to know you better."

Elrohir pulled to a stop in front of the Huberts and looked back at Sonia. He really hoped her parents hadn't noticed she'd been gone.

"Me too." Maik said, her cheecks going redder. "You want to go for a walk?"
