Descartes nodded. His ear now warm to Maik's touch. "Thank you."

"Welcome." Maik replied. "So when can I go to that cabin of yours?"

"ANytime you like." Descartes says. "Do you still have the key?"

Maik nodded. "I do. Mind if I show up there tomorrow?"

"Of course not." Descartes says smiling.

"Good." Maik replied with a smile. She scratched her chin thoughtfully. "Are your parents ok with this? My staying at your cabin?"

"Yes, of course, they suggested it since you helped us out."

"Only a little." Maik shrugged.

"That's a lot to people who no one volunteers to help." Descartes says a slight hint of pain in his voice.

"People are really predjudiced against your family, aren't they?" Maik said with a frown

Descartes nods. "Sadly, yes. In a way, I'm glad though. It teaches me not to be prejudice against them."

Maik smiled. "You're such a good guy Descartes."

Descartes smiled. "I try." he says laughing softly.

Descartes smiled. "I try." he says laughing softly.

"I hope you don't have to try very hard." Maik joked

He gently pinched her shoulder. "That was bloody harsh."

"I was joking." Maik replied, pinching him back and sticking her tongue out at him. "I don't think you have to try hard at all."
