im kinda thinking that maybe it may be the same with AVP.

i wasnt born at the time to see alien in theatres. but alien was before predator. so maybe these movie vs franchise directors wanna keep the winner old school.

I reckon its gonna bomb, ive been against this movie from the start. Its yet another ploy to drain more cash, as are most movies lately. I just dont see a three-way face off between the three races, the original predeator and aliens series were designed for a one-on-one encounter, this will be more like a showcase of CGI rather than the tense hunting game.

Movies are made for entertainment, and to make money. Summer movies especially. What's your point?

By the way, read some pretty bad reviews for this one, very typical Paul Anderson movie.

Well too little thought goes into original stories. Too many sequels, adaptations, remakes etc. This is all a result of money-making incentives, why bother putting in the effort when there is easy cash.

this movie deffaintly isnt just a ploy to gain money, well i guess that is what every movie is for. This film though has been trying to get made since before alien ressurection no studio believed it enough. Fox said only if cameron would reprise the role of director seeing how he was interested in doing another alien installment. This was shot dead in 2000 when cameron diddnt want involvment in anything to do with alien. in 2001 overwhelming fan requests prompted a CEO at fox to develop a possible script for AvP. Anderson heard about this and approached his agent to get in touch with Fox. Fox was very leary about even sighning anderson as a possible choice, but when anderson said he would do it with the little budget fox had on the film back in 99 fox sighned him and gave him complete freedom.

Anderson wanted the story tobe as authentic as possible so he sought gavibir, a writer for the pred comics. This film is to much of a good idea which is why it wont work. It will die hard though, anderson believes his work and has given it his all with the fans in mind. Anderson is a great potential director aswell, but i think he bit off more than he can chew this time

It will take a pretty good effort to pull it off. I still barely see the concept of it working successfully.

I saw the trailer and it had teenagers in it like you'd see in Nightmare on Elm Street, something neither Predator nor Alien had. That in itself is an embarrassment.

True. I'm afraid this might put them over the top, however.

Also, I don't know what's the movie's going to be rated, but I assume it will be R. If it's PG-13 then I retract my last statement. That will be the ultimate embarrassment.
