First of all I'm one of the ones that liked it , second of all who actually decides whether the Predators are better than the Aliens in combat? Its not exactly set in stone that the Preds have to completely wipe them out with no challenge, the Aliens can hold their own against them. Thirdly, it explains more or less that the Preds that go down there are not that experienced- first time hunters basically. Also the whole point of a challenging hunt to a Predator wouldn't include keeping the stealth suit on the whole film and using the laser cannon to blast their way through them, they live for the thrill of battle, battle that is fair and honourable.
There could have been more action but to be honest I prefered the way they approached it, more keeping in touch with the trapped, infested-with aliens type horror and I would readilly welcome a sequel .

Does anyone know if there is anything in the rumours that Takashi Miike is making the sequel to Alien Vs Predator.
How ridiculously ****ing cool would that be... ?
On AVP in general - I can't remember ever having thought HALF WAY through a movie "I wish id waited for the DC DVD release..."

I don't understand why they cut out bits.Surely it can't be worse than the game, can it?
Worse than the game? The game is one of the best FPS experiences out there. Not to mention a Great addition in the world of aliens and predator.
As far as the directors cut goes. I hope no one is duped into buying it. Even though it is said to have orginally been rated R. The movie still blows. I mean no matter how much extra content is thrown in there, the movie is still going to blow. It's like watching a movie on cable where they cut all the "good stuff" out. When we say good stuff we mean a few violent scenes and some swear words. This doesnt make a movie better as a whole, only makes it more complete to the way we are accustomed to viewing it. Yeah when the directors cut comes out, there may be some more blood and swearing, but there isnt going to be any additional fight scenes or plot twists, it will be the same shitty movie with blood and the F word. big god damn deal.
it was a good movie, but could be alot better! fu***ng paul Anderson the wa**er of the century can't direct a movie for s**t! pardon my french! 😛 he done it with Resident Evil and i think hes going to do it with Alien 5/6!!! 🙁 , anyway...there wasnt enough gore..not enough human blood and even when you did see someone getting killed it wasn't much good anyway, certainly hope that if there is a AVP 2, that P.Anderson DOESN'T direct it!!! overall - 6/10
Heres the thing. In the world of aliens and predator. these two species have come together to battle time and time again. there are two published novel series, four comic book series, four games, and two cross over comics including the two, and one movie. out of all of this content where we have these speices fighting each other. the movie was the worst. It had the worst sub characters, worst plot, and worst action. to be more percise, NO ACTION, ONE fight scene between the two. the only good thing about the film, was the creature effects.
When the two giants did meet and fight, you could not tell what the hell was going on, or were given shakey camera effects to produce intesity. this film on all accounts was a bad movie. A bad movie, again for the slow kids in the back of the bus. This film was a bad, bad movie that failed in nearly every possible way.
I am usually a forgiving movie fan, and even more forgiving when it comes to aliens or predator, seeing how im a die hard fan, but this movie bit the big one. Nothing about it was good, plausible, or entertaining, save the creature effects.
