sorry to get off track, this thread isnt about Jugs...but concerning the comments about THing's strength...the 85 ton stat is from way back before the Things second mutation...after his second mutation he was stronger than the Hulk or anyone else around...Marvel directory makes no mention of this because it is word for word from the old "Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition" published in dec 1986...however a year later in Fantastic Four #310 published in January 1988, the Thing Mutated again into his spike form...he remained in this form, except when he was transformed into a human, until issue 354 in July 1991, where he turned back to his rock form without any explanation. While in his spike form he never encountered anything or anyone stronger than him...nor did he find himself unable to complete a task because he wasnt strong enough...for instance he actually picked up and threw the space ship of Kang the Conquerer and kicked the Hulk's ass...he was well over 100 ton strength at this time but the directory does not mention it because its information is antiquated...additionally, the Thing originally weighed 400lbs...the directory says he weighs 500lbs, the most recent mention of his weight by Reed Richards is 700lbs but feels like he could be heavier...so if in issue # 264 the Thing's weight is 400lbs and is perhaps in the 85 ton class, then be 75% bigger in modern comics where he weighs 700lbs, would that mean he is probably stronger and in the 100+ ton class today, and stronger than colossus (deceased)? I think so...the Thing doesnt give his strength away, he doesnt even reveal his true strength to Reed Richards as demonstrated in issue #77 where he breaks one of his inventions trying to test his strength...this is probably why whenever a villain makes restraints for the Thing, like Doctor Doom or the Wizard, he always breaks free because they underestimate his strength
