ok this is one is one of the biggest star wars 'urban myths' about and probably the best well known. The myth goes someone at Lucas Arts [change as appproprate😛] was about to be fired and as revenge[change as appropriate] added something 'extra' to 3po. There are countless varitions on this theme and no doubt many here can give sllightly differnt versions of this urban myth.
The actual story should anyone care to look for it LOL [and god alone knows why they would!] is that it was a part of the costume that fell off just as the photo was taken.
The strangest part is really just the zillion to one co-incidence that it lined up where it did.
The only reason i know this is I found it a few years back on a site on star wars urban myths.... if I can find the link I'll post it at some point.
Hope this clears this one up for anyone not sure on this cards background.
