There is an issue here- the Dark Side group isn't working well enough to help each other. It's gone a bit 'every man/woman for him/herself'. I don't just mean in-game, but out of game too- people are heing left to fend for themselves, and work things out for themselves.
Teamwork is what is meant to keep you guys alive whilst other Dark Siders die. If it fails, you fail.
As for the vilness of the fight- yes it is.
The Citadel of the Ghost Serpent is designed as a really tough nut, with a shedload of mooks and plentiful suprmooks and FOUR main named characters PLUS some named characters they are using in their bodyguards.
Smaller in scale than the attack on the fortress the Jedi mounted (to which it is thematically similar) it may be, but it is twice as ferocious- with odds of up to 14 to one, I would have had to throw droids at the Jedi in groups of 100 or more to match it- and droids are less dangerous than these guys.
This is a true Dark Side fight- you have wanted to unleash on mooks for ages. But no pansy pointless fight for you- this is for real, a struggle for sheer survival.
It is, after all, the centre of a criminal empire, and you are a mere handful of people. Evil is the word for it.
The Emotions-for-free thing is a bonus to help.
What?! I seriously thought I was typing something! Shit! That was well thought out too...
ANYWAY...
I went back and read an old poll for the Dark-Siders back about choosing leaders and working together, SHOULD KUYLEN BECOME UNAVAILABLE OR BE ABSENT FROM THE MISSION. 😖
The choices were...
A) Quam, because...well, he's Quam!
B) Edna, because she's liked by Kuylen, and has strong powers
C) Galder, because a tough man needs to lead!
D) Chion, because he never speaks, and therefore must be smarter than all of us...
My points were that A and B would have been my choices, and that the last two, especially D, were highly suicidal. Quam was the ideal Dark Sider...angry, sarcastic, highly motivated to succeed, and...er...very much into himself. He seemed to get the group out of situations quite often, like his 'let's roll around in the mud and then swim for twenty miles because we don't want to be picked up by sensors!'
Edna was also especially adept at such problem-solving skills, though her aims seemed to be more on achieving greater power and exacting revenge upon her enemies, which she did nicely with the execution of Hade...whom none of us would or should remember.
Would Quam or Edna ever make cameos as NPCs, Ush? I remember Edna made a cameo in Takuan's vision from the final installment of Campaign 1.
