Meh, Rand doesn't mind the handicap. He doesn't have many skills that rely on Dexterity, other than Lightsaber fighting. It'll hamper him just a tad.

That is waht Xavier would do though he doesn't hate jedi but he wants to fight everyone he comes across to show he is the greatest it's like his big character fall. If it wasn't for that he would be a model Jedi right now possibly on his way to the counsil. Heb was emotionless strict to the code but he always wanted to show he was the best.
