RP General Discussion

I might give the Star Wars RPG another whack. That's a very large maybe, since I've gone through two unsuccessful Star Wars RPGs.

hmmpf..i was reading some parts of the first part of ush's rp..and players sure posted a lot of what they were doing. I mean i can post something like :"i open fire at him" but they posted this part too :"he falls dead"..dunno

And was I Mr. Happy? Nooooooooo!

Frankly, if you want play tips, go see how Edna played.

She played with brains and only ever posted sensibly.

I post pretty sensibly currently. Back then it was my first game. Now that I think of it, I'm going to find my first RPG post...

Galder could be equally bad, but he hasn't had the opportunity. I probably should have blown those people to pieces when they complained about the radiation.

That post was absolutely great- top notch, in fact. Edna used to clear her important posts with me first (I still have all the e-mails). She actually got the whole Orphan thing going (certainly better than just saying 'fear' in capital letters all the time... giggles... sorry... it was me who put that idea in your head but I did not mean it quite so literally!) As Galder says, that was a Dark Sider! And hence her powers were always in full flow. Didn't stop her needing a bail-out in that fight though-from Kuylen himself! Much as Takuan got bailed by Saar earlier in this story.

I don't mind people saying they have killed unimportant people because the chances are you will do it easy. I will contradict you if there is a problem with what you said (you describe killing four people and my system determines you have just been shot; I will say you got as far as the first two then got shot, what now?) but I only get aggravated if you assume the ridiculous (I shoot Balek and he dies) or try and de-rail the plot (secretly decoding the Mausoleum's location from my secret Sith pocket book I race out there ahead of the others...)

Mind you, not to say the plot is rigid. It was certainly always possible that some Dark Side players would form a coalition and try to cut the others out the plan by keeping the location to themslves and there are entire unused plots that would run if anyone had hatched a plan to unseat Kuylen as the leader. The starport sabre fight at K'rra Chi, meant to be a centrepiece part of the action in Episode II, never happened either as very few people bothered going there despite the weirdness of a Hutt ship carrying arms breaching the apparently unbreachable blockade (something I repeatedly pointed out...)... in fact, Episode III was the only one that went as I envisioned, with everything that might have de-railed it being countered out by something else (e.g. Rex attempted to bug the Jedi's travel shuttle. The Jedi find the bug and could have reverse-tracked the signal to Galder. Instead they forgot about it. Good thing to, could have been a REAL bad day for Galder!)

Rex, I seem to remember you trying to post that the station above Avalar blew up in one of your very first posts...

i liked he post just fine. I only showed that it has the 'i shoot and he dies' parts. But if you were pming eachother with this stuff...itz perfect🙂

Nah, it was never easier either. After posting about 50 posts into the game, I lost a lightsaber duel.

yes but you had and won duels afterwards..i don't see me winning duels 😉

I've only won one duel, though it was a sweet revenge victory. Stabbed Lance through the side. 😈

I'm going to throw together a list of Balek's damage done.

I have always been keen to try and maker out that Dark Side life is not the endless no-barriers fun-a-thon that some expect. It's a hard life.
