Well, it's not really illegal since we would have solved the pirate case, and I'm sure one of the pirates caught would tell us of a certain Kirillian who helped them out.
That wouldn't matter it could still be illegal, even if it is the truth, but I don't know the laws of the republic, though Ush seems to play them similar to real world scenarios.
As it is, you've got him where you want him without beating him senseless. That's the Jedi way. Darkies have it much harder in the sense that everyone wants to murderface them totally. All the time. Er'day.
Bad news bears, I'm afraid. Rex has asked me to inform all of you that his laptop was destroyed while fighting ninjas (he fell asleep with it on his lap and it fell and it jostled some stuff and it won't work). He'll be without a laptop for two to three weeks.
As such, he's going to be posting for Ush's game as much as he can, but Retrospection episodes are being put on hold. He's not going to have access to his notes (since they were on the laptop). Sorry folks.
If you are exopressing a frustraiton that the Dark Siders can shortcut all of these issues and just say "Do it or I'll hurt you" and it works without consequences then... well yes!
Still, what did Yoda say about the quick and easy way?
Besides, as I like to explore- Dark Siders have their own problems.

Meanwhile, yes, without being too specific I stick to general real world principles that confessions extracted by force are inadmissable and cases built on evidence that is then rejected can be retrospectively ruined.
It is the inbuilt issues wqith the system that cause Renegades to become Renegades. Renegades have freedom- but it is the Jedi players who have authority. With that authority coimes an obligation to play by the rules.
Of course, the point was raised that it doesn't matter if no-one finds out... but that has its own potential consequences.
The Renegades have also been under the spotlight in their own way this story. Their raison d'etre is that the system doesn't work- but I was watchfuyl for them going a bit far and being the reason why, in this case, the system didn't work in the first place, which is an easy step-too-far to take. The whole investigation is a genuine attempt to bring down a large criminal enterprise for the good of all. If it is slow, it is because it wants to get as much of that organisation as possible. It's a scenario where the Renegades should accept that, this time, thet should probably work with it.
(This is in contrast to the events of Battlefield, where the system ws entirely powerless to stop the bad things going on)

...wow, genius. He told me that he went to sleep when it was fine, and wasn't working when he woke up. I was trying to help him figure out what was wrong with it.
He neglected to mention he fell asleep with it on his lap 😂

Ouch, that sucks. I think there's a high probability of the hard drive not being damaged, as that is one of the components of the computer that is least likely to be damaged in a fall.
Those are nice, I like how they have keyboards. I really despise the typing on the IPhone, but since literally anything is possible to be done on it I cope with it. It's pretty cool actually, I can remotely access my computer through the internet and a screen on the Iphone shows what my computer is doing. Which basically kinda means I can play whatever I want on the Iphone through my computer, but as it is the software is a bit laggy.
