You're not down yet, mister. You've got defensive Force powers. Make use of them.

I want you all to know my Mass Effect 2 character is female, to help me gain some perspective for Tilulla here in the RP forum. 😊

...and yes, I think I prefer RP'ing females in general. I'd 😮 but there's really nothing odd about it. I just can't mention that fact to friends because they try to read too much into it, or just make fun of me mercilessly at the first sign of any weakness. Because, ya know, that's what friends are for...

ermm

I don't see a problem with roleplaying the opposite sex at all. I find it fun to try and get myself to "think like a woman". Things are done different and characters' reactions (should) change with gender. It makes for a different and more interesting experience, in my mind.

I could probably comfortably roleplay a female character, and I have a lot of female characters in my game that I design for the players to go up against/talk to/meet/flirt with.

I just prefer the muscley combat-ready men types I tend to play.

All the galaxy's troubles are caused by men...

Sounds like Lady Thea would hate Galder. She probably won't like Xeth any, no matter how many planets he saves.

Misogyny has long been an issue in Star Wars. Famously, trying to spot women in the original films was almost impossible. Leia was a strong character but her main schtick was still to be rescued and then argue with the men until she saw sense and fell in love with one. You know, like all women should do when a REAL person (i.e. a man) fancies them.

Things aren't much better with Padme. What will Thea think of the women-folk amongst our group?

At least Padme existed in a galaxy where other women also existed, like Shmi... though still a rare species. We had to get to Mon Mothma in the OT before we could be sure that Leia wasn't some unique specimen.

Still, virtually all important storyline issues in Star Wars are male driven.

And we shall see!

That's because men are simply the best, obviously!

(no)

Part of me wishes I was part of that man-hating campaign. I'd fully be tempted to switch sides, condemn all men, have sloppy makeouts with the crazy chick, then kill her and save the day. Or replace her as head of the female cabal. But, ya know, in the name of good.

Which has always (rather justifiably I'd say) annoyed the hell out of me.

At least with the PT there's a few thousand more Jedi around, and a lot of them are women. Too bad none of them get more than a few seconds screentime, if even that!

I love Leia, but yeah. Grated on me a little bit. And Padme was awesome...until ROTS.

There's always the kickass girl trio of Luminara, Aayla, and Shaak Ti! 😄

Which sadly, as awesome as they are, does not contradict me pointing out that none of them got any actual screentime in the movies. If you want to see more than one or two decent female characters in SW, you pretty much have no choice but to get into the EU.

...incidentally, I still want that Barriss Lego minifig we saw, damnit.

Hey, Shaak Ti managed to get killed twice over the course of filming RotS. How many can say that?

And then survived to be in TFU.

...where she was wearing almost nothing. What a surprise 😛

But come on, she had a pet giant Sarlacc and Force-sensitive minions. Not bad there. 😉

I'd say overall a net gain. ✅

...sometimes I forget that within this group, being mostly a bunch of guys, it'd be rare to get a response of anything other than "yay!" to scantily-clad females 😛

How I forget this, I don't know. But yeah 😛

Hey now! I was genuinely weighing the pros and cons of lack of proper attire to obtaining a healthy Force sensitive force and a pet Sarlacc. Not to say Shaak Ti isn't attractive, of course...so, yeah, nevermind, it is all about us guys and scantily clad women. 😆
