Any concept of 'busy life' is entirely self-generated! 😄
This is amusingly profound. We tend to use the time we're given to complete a task, which means a certain level of procrastination from even the diligent.
I'm currently in the middle of my semi-annual sh*tstorm of work that has me working 12 hour days back to back to back, wondering if it could've been avoided. I can somewhat counter that I did a lot of things in anticipation of this time to be "ahead" on other work (finishing things not due until much later, for instance). But there's still a lot of time wasted if I'm being honest.
I do have good explanations for my work. Most times, I'm not super-busy. But I'm always working with deadlines, and not always able to work at my own pace because I have to rely on others to get me materials for them. When 2-3 big deadlines fall around the same time, the storm ensues.
Still, when there are days when I get get tragically little done, there's always something more that could've been done. So meh.
Oh, the fun of deadlines and other people not carrying their weight...
I know that well. I've started griping at my coworkers about it and being more assertive and just telling people "Go do this thing now" though 😄 I'm really, really bad at that sort of thing. Even though I've been in management positions for various things for quite a few years now.
Still, seems that no matter what situation I'm in, when things go wrong it falls on me to fix it, and it's...not fun. At all.

Telling you guys what to do online is a bit different from telling people what to do in person 😛
Also, I'm not terribly good at getting people in this group to listen to me, either, so there's that as well.
A few years ago one of my staffers at the convention GK and I worked for said that over the course of the weekend, my attitude would go from being all nice and sweet to "Do it. No, do it. DO IT NOW." as I got more and more stressed with trying to balance running a rather large and busy department 😛

When is that convention again and what is it about? I was thinking about going to it this year?
I do not have pictures of my actual Jedi robes I made a few years back.
However, I do have my Halloween costume from 2008. Which I made in a single day. I think I win 😄

(that cloak? Hand-dyed. As in, literally stamped the mottled pattern on with dye before cutting and sewing together the pieces. It took forever.)
