RP General Discussion

Hello! I've been watching Craft lurk about roleplaying here, and have been following a few of the campaigns, I was wondering if there was a free space on the renegade team in Ush's game, and how I'd go about bouncing ideas off Ush for the sake of getting my character's story and such right.

There's definitely room. There's no need for an exhaustive backstory- just some ideas about your character is fine, and people often develop more back story as they play. If you do want to build one, I find talking to the other players about it is the best way; they can give you lots of contextual advice. I'm happy to comment on any ideas you hae!

Uh, I already have a character sheet worked up (There's one thing I'm not certain about, which I'd need to chitter at you about.), as I've done some practice RP with Craft to get my head wrapped around the system. Where should I post the sheet for review?

Hello new player!

Right here in the Discussion thread probably wouldn't be too bad, for now. That or the 'Drafts for new templates' thread.

I'm looking at the templates revamp. Sorry it's been awhile. Still leaning toward a gunslinger Ronin. We'll see.

Fresh meat!

Mwahahahahahaa.

I had a question since I'm making my character. It's about Merits.

Would it be Ties to the Senate to actually be a Senator?

Probably kind of weird to ask.

No, and I think Senatorial Ties would cost too much, as that implies you have some official standing with the Senate which is very tricky for any of the Force Using template types.

Taking a Senator as an Ally is much more practical.

Wouldn't Contact make the most sense?

Mental picture of a Senator going out on a mission with some Jedi is just funny 😛

I could see having a Senator on hand as being useful to defusing prickly situations.

I think that could work too. I am thinking of being a Ronin who acts as a law enforcer, but I want him to have some political backing like a Senator or world that wants to make changes too.

Senatorial Contacts are fine, though that wouldn't be a Senator. Contacts generally give information rather than resources, though I can be flexible depending on the help needed. Allies help out with their skillset. Ties do it all.

So I could talk to my Senator Ally to get help in a political situation or something from their homeworld or the like?

What would be appropriate for someone who could get me weapons or weapons for people that need them that my character might be trying to aid or protect?

Would that also be an Ally?

Getting you weapons is a Contact, really. Though Star Wars people rarely have trouble getting armed so this would be considerable weaponry you were talking about.

Ok, sorry folks, but I'll have to delay the next episode start due to busy life stuff. Starting relatively soon though!

You're waiting for me to not be around to start, aren't you...

*suspicious*

However, awww. Wanted to see what new horrible things you have for us.

What he really means is that he was too lasy to write his essays over half term so we now have to wait while he squeezes them in last minute before the deadline (and he calls himself a teacher!). Any concept of 'busy life' is entirely self-generated! 😄
