I'm guessing they just got too busy? I'm surprised most of us still play with how busy I know some of the players are.
I have joined this campaign in 2005 where I had a lot more free time than now and i intend to stick to the end. Current pace is slow, so it is not hard for me to keep in most of the time, it is just that it is easy to get out of touch if you do not reread stuff (like I managed to do this weekend).
Rex and Zink are actually playing longer than me. Rex especially.
Edit - I found first post from Galder in the game (2002):http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1439&pagenumber=23

Yes, it is amazing for how many years this game is going on.I have been reading some older threads and regained interest, the plot is coming towards epic conclusion and I want to see how it ends for us.
It is pity that Lana and Dak stopped playing - we lost most of Psycho Brigade. Rianna was one of the main characters in our team.

And there's more!-
Gun and Run
You may shoot at any point of your Move, not just at the end.Tap: Gain 3 parry against any opponent who you end your move closer to than you were at the start.
Clumsy and Random
Your maximum skill level if using a burst fire weapon (like a blaster rifle) increases to 9 (see * note below)Tap: Make three attacks this turn. They may be against the same target or different targets. Declare the target just before you make each attack.
Second shot
Re-roll your entire attack. If you get more successes than the first roll use the second roll. Otherwise you miss and all attacks get plus two against you until your next turn. Second shot can be used just once a turn.Tap: Before you re-roll take two dice and set them to six. Include these dice in the result of your re-roll.
Return fire
If you are hit by a ranged weapon you get a bonus attack on the person who fired. This attack gets an extra attack die. Return fire can be used once a turn.Tap: You get extra attack dice equal to the damage you suffered.
Glancing hits
Gain two armour against attacks.Tap: Heal ten damage
Trusty blaster
Only usable with a pistol. Any 1s you roll when making a a Gun attack add a counter on this schtick. Take a counter off this schtick to gain an attack die. Take two counters off to increase the damage of the pistol by one. Take four counters off to get a bonus attack. This schtick may only have four counters on it.Tap: Tap this schtick to put four counters on it, then swap it with an inactive schtick.
* As a reminder, burst fire weapons are often used by mooks and add 2 to your gun pool, but limit your final pool to 7 and so aren't normally much good for players. This schtick is designed for people who casually buy into guns.
It may seem weird that I am responding to this now, but I have been in mood for rereading older posts for the last few days.
These schticks seem quite tactical, is there a plan to incorporate them into main rules at this point?
And, assuming there is enough activity to continue (I hope so), how many more episodes we have plot for, Ush?

Life happens; I had a lot less going on a few years ago than I do now. Both of us work full-time as well as do freelance artwork, which leaves little free time. Also I just switched jobs, GK and I just got married a few weeks ago, we're currently searching for a new apartment...things are always busy for us.

Also it's a LANA sighting!!! 🙂
I wish you two the best.

Hello!
I did not even know that you and GK got married. Best wishes for the new path in your life!

Hi! And thanks 😄 It was literally just a couple weeks ago - we got married on Valentine's Day. We'd been planning on marrying last year but a number of reasons made us have to put it off. We decided the week before just to go to the courthouse (which is what I had always wanted to do anyway), and we told no one ahead of time but our families. It was great.

Indeed, you look great and certainly happy!
At least if you would like to get back to RP, your husband should understand.
😉
It's kinda a combination of things that slowed things down- I'm not as available as I was, and nor are players, and that snowballs because some things were written with starter player numbers in mind and it all gums up when things change.
It's not just lack of availability to post- a lot of things need to be thought out in detail as a team, and so it doesn't take many missing people to snarl up all the works, and then people get out the a bit of checking etc.
I'm hoping to be more available from the summer on.
If I can persuade the offline group here to Star Wars on to get some more story in mind, then we'll see if those schtcks stuck.
Mind you, what with the sequel films coming, SW is back in vogue...

Thanks Ush, your effort in running the games for so many years is really something to appreciate.
By the way, has anyone been watching the show Star Wars Rebels?
I have started it to get back in Star Wars mood and it seems pretty decent, apparently also pretty close to canon.
What got me interested is presence of Inquisitor as one of the bad guys i.e. a force user working under Vader to hunt remaining force users. This development is similar to Palpatine making Katai working for the Bureau, to me.
We started playing these things when we were waiting for the prequel films to drop. Maybe we'll see some rejuvenation with the new films coming. But yeah, we're all real busy, doesn't make it easy to keep things going at any quick pace.
I've been enjoying Rebels too, Melkor. Pretty decent effort on all counts, and a good follow-up to the Clone Wars.
I'll add my Congrats and best wishes to Lana and GK! Definitely miss you two in games though, but life is life, isn't it.
And I'll echo Melk on thanking Ush again for sticking with this. It's hard to believe that I've been in this over a decade now and I'm not nearly one of the 'originals'. There cannot be a longer running online RP out there, I'm sure. This series is an impressive feat, and I'm pretty proud to be part of it, even if only our own little group is aware. As I've always said: I'm in it 'till the end, mine or the game's.
